Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 1305

"You're a country bumpkin, aren't you? Head over to our shop. The clothes there are five dollars a set, cheap and durable."

Mira shoved the sales associate away. "Back off, or I'm calling the cops."

They were in a high-end mall where street stalls didn't exist, so where on earth would there be five-dollar outfits?

It was obviously a scam.

Suddenly, the person reached for Mira's bag, but with her martial arts training, there was no way she'd let him succeed; she kicked him ten feet away.

"Help, assault! She's attacking me..."

The man collapsed on the ground, wailing, drawing the stares of everyone nearby.

A busybody wandered over. "What's going on here? Assaulting someone in broad daylight?"

Whispers began to ripple through the crowd, all condemning Mira for being unreasonable.

Then, another person chimed in, "It's not good to cause a scene with so many people around. Why don't you head somewhere quiet to sort this out?"

Sarah and George whispered to Mira, "We shouldn't cause trouble while we're out. Let's just find a quiet spot, apologize, and put an end to this."

Pausing for a moment, Sarah added, "If it comes to it, we'll just pay him off. Your dad makes three thousand a month now, and I can always find a job if things get tight."

Mira just smiled, glancing at the person trying to persuade her. "I refuse. Go ahead and call the cops."

"Come on, it's not that serious. Let's just compromise. There's no need to waste public resources, right?"

"Waste public resources? You sound awfully righteous for someone who's likely hiding a guilty conscience."

As she spoke, Mira discretely signaled for Ryan to call the police.

Thanks to their years of built-up intuition, he instantly caught her drift, stepping back out of the crowd's view to dial 911.

"Why would I be guilty over the two of you fighting? I was just trying to be fair.

This is ridiculous."

The instigator yelled, riling up the crowd to turn their accusations toward Mira.
