Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 1289

Even if he laid all his cards on the table, Damon probably wouldn't stand with them.

"Damon, we all choose our own paths," Ethan said flatly. "I just advise you to keep your eyes open."

With that, Ethan and Mira headed upstairs to check the latest financial news. The markets wouldn't open until Monday, so they were just prepping their strategies.

Starting the very next day, the siblings fell into a strict routine. They woke up at 6:00 AM sharp to train together. Mira was determined to regain her past physical flexibility, explosive power, and pinpoint accuracy.

In the afternoons, they would head out to purchase specialized equipment and herbal ingredients. Mira needed to craft her signature defensive compounds as quickly as possible.

Since many of the herbs emitted a pungent odor, they stored the supplies at Mira's rented apartment, where she could process them without drawing attention. A few rare components simply couldn't be sourced in Melvion City, so Ethan had to pull some strings to have them shipped in from out of town.

When Mira arrived at school on Monday, Evelyn Crowe announced that midterms would begin the following day.

The other students had known for a while, but Mira, having only transferred the previous week, was out of the loop. It didn't matter. Lack of prep time wouldn't stop her from taking the top spot.

However, she remembered clearly that during her senior year in her past life, Evelyn had secretly leaked the exam questions to Mara ahead of time. Would she pull the same stunt this time around? Mira decided to keep a close watch.

That same day, Mira officially made her move in the stock market. Her capital consisted of her remaining three million dollars, the two million gifted by her brothers, and the five hundred thousand from Damon.

That brought her initial pool to exactly $5.5 million, her Severance Settlement. Before Julian left, he had wired her another five million, and Ethan had followed up with an additional ten million. All together, she held a solid 20.5 million dollars.

The massive sums from her brothers weren't mere gifts; they were intended as seed capital to build their empire.

First thing that morning, Mira allocated two-thirds of her funds into a highly promising stock. Playing it relatively safe for her standards, she only applied a 5x leverage. The remaining capital was kept in reserve for position adjustments.

It was her first foray into the market in this life, and she knew better than to act on pure greed right out of the gate.

When Mira returned home from school that afternoon, she fully expected to walk into a jubilant celebration regarding Mara's song copyrights—a flashy display of bragging at the very least.
