By the time Mira finished organizing her things and came down for dinner, Ethan had already returned.
"Mira, how was your first day of school?"
"It was great."
Mira casually took her seat at the dining table.
Adrian was still fuming. "What do you mean, 'great'? Your first day there, and you're already bullying your classmates and threatening your teachers."
"That student deserved to be hit, and that teacher is no saint either,"
Ethan retorted.
He then shot Mara a warning look. "I'm warning you, stop stirring up trouble and bullying Mira at school. Or else, I won't hold back."
Only the five of them were dining tonight, as Julian Mercer had already left for the day. Divided into two clear factions, they argued so frequently that the household staff lived in constant fear, staying as quiet as mice.
After dinner, Mira retreated upstairs to her room, opened her laptop, and continued browsing the stock market for lucrative opportunities. The volatility of Bitcoin wouldn't surge until the summer holidays, so it wasn't the right time to enter that market just yet.
Just then, Ethan walked in.
"What are your career plans moving forward?"
"In this life, I'm going to conquer the financial sector first. It's the fastest way to generate capital; we can figure out the rest later. While every industry is profitable, finance is the most lucrative and holds the most decisive power."
Mira glanced at her brother. "You can handle the paid music subscriptions over at the Mercer Group. However, as it stands, Adrian is still the Chairman of the board.
Even though you can manage the company and render him a figurehead, legally speaking, he is the rightful owner of the group. He can kick you out at any moment, but you don't have the authority to oust him.
Not to mention, Shane Porter is lurking in the shadows. If Adrian is pushed into a corner, he will absolutely collude with him again.
