Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 1137

Gwen cried and screamed for a while. When she realized no one was reacting, she froze in place.

Sebastian and Miles stood on either side of her, simply watching Gwen lose her mind without intervening.

Master Ellis couldn't hold back his temper any longer. "Keep yelling! Why stop now?" he snapped. "Aren't you good at making things up? Keep going! You've said so much, why not claim Mira forced your daughter to marry Lawrence, too?

So, every misfortune in your family is Mira's fault? Is your entire family a bunch of idiots, just letting Mira puppet you around?"

Ellis glared at Gwen. "And you're a finance professor? Honestly, you belong in the Department of Performing Arts.

You could teach your students how to throw spectacular tantrums, just like a raving lunatic.

No, even a lunatic couldn't put on a show like yours."

Sitting on the sidelines, Jax Weaver chimed in. "Well, she is a professor, after all. How could anyone compete with Professor Quinn?

A professor rolling on the floor throwing a tantrum—hilarious.

I got it all on video," Jax continued. "I'm going to upload Professor Quinn's little performance straight to Solflare Vibe.

Upload, and... sent. Perfect."

Jax admired his handiwork. "This expression, the screaming—it doesn't even need background music. I bet I'll gain tens of thousands of followers in the next hour. Might even make a few bucks off it."

Silas Vane glanced over at him. "Tens of thousands? Try millions in a few hours. The ad revenue alone will pay for our drinks.

Wow, look at that, the view count is already skyrocketing."

"Delete it! Delete it right now! Who gave you permission to record?"

Gwen shrieked, finally snapping back to reality.

"Mira, how do you manage your staff? You let them film people in your own home?"

Before Mira could respond, Jax interjected, "I didn't film anyone else, just you, because you're special.

"What? Seraphina was arrested too?"

Eleanor asked sharply.

"Now, don't get worked up, Eleanor," Ellis quickly backpedaled, trying to soothe her.

"It's not worth getting angry over people like this. Don't risk your own health for them. It's really not worth it."

Ellis quickly tried to calm her down.

"You don't need to coddle me. Don't worry, I can handle it."

Eleanor shrugged slightly, but she still pressed, "Why was Seraphina taken in?"

"How else? She got dragged down by her sister-in-law."

Ellis replied bluntly.
