Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 1130

Eleanor continued, "My only regret is not holding onto more shares back then. Now I'm watching them squander such a massive empire. Your grandfather and I practically bled to build that from the ground up. After he passed, I poured decades of my life into it, and now it's all going to collapse in Sebastian's hands..."

Despite promising she wouldn't get emotional, the heartbreak was too much, and the old lady began to weep. Mira instantly regretted not keeping the secret better.

But then again, her grandmother was just too perceptive to fool.

Well, the damage was done. Mira grabbed a tissue and gently wiped away Eleanor's tears.

"Mira, from now on, whether Sebastian, Gwen, or even Sera live or die, you don't need to lift a finger. It's the bed they made. They deserve every bit of it. As for Miles, if he ever proves he can stand on his own two feet, give him a hand. But if he turns out as useless as the rest of them, ignore him too."

"Grandma, if the day comes when the Quinn family truly falls, we'll help Miles if we can. If he can't be saved, we'll set up a trust for him so he can at least live out his days in peace," Mira promised.

Earlier, Eleanor had given Mira the 15% inheritance stake in the Quinn Group, worth hundreds of billions. While it was an astronomical fortune to a regular person, to Mira—who now managed trillions—it was just a drop in the bucket.

Mira didn't need the money; she was simply holding onto it for her grandmother.

Mira placed the funds into Solflare Capital—which was now transitioning into Solflare National Bank. She structured it into a trust fund that would generate massive annual dividends.

Just as Eleanor instructed, Mira wouldn't waste her energy on the toxic members of the Quinn family. She would only extend a lifeline to the innocent ones caught in the crossfire, like Miles.

She also still technically owed Sebastian for saving her life once.

But given his current delusional state, continuing to wreak havoc alongside Gwen, Mira wasn't going to step in. Besides, the Quinn Group was still somewhat functional and hadn't reached a complete dead end yet.

Her duties were light—mainly just keeping Eleanor company all day. When Eleanor rested, Mrs. Higgins rested.

Otherwise, they chatted, played cards, or watched TV.

Cooking was handled by a professional, and Martha and Rachel took care of the heavy cleaning, leaving Mrs. Higgins free from physical labor.

Speaking of cooking, by the time Mira had returned, Daisy Cross had already taken her maternity leave and gone home. Naturally, Mason went with her to take care of her.

Now, the meals were prepared by another chef transferred from the Solflare Grand Hotel—a young man in his twenties named Chef Leo.
