Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 1127

Owen! Without a doubt, he knew Owen was behind this. The bastard wouldn't rest until he was behind bars.

"If I get the chance, I'll kill him!"

Lawrence gritted his teeth in sheer rage.

But what could he do now?

Lawrence immediately turned to Sebastian. "Sebastian, please. Do whatever you can to stall them. Every minute counts."

Lawrence had always been arrogant, but for the first time, he looked at Sebastian with desperate pleading in his eyes. Then, he frantically grabbed his phone and dialed his father.

Left with no choice, Sebastian sent Miles down. "Tell the police Lawrence has ongoing projects that require a brief handover."

Then, Sebastian dialed Owen's number. "Owen, where are you right now?"

"At the office, Sebastian. What is it?"

"The police are here to arrest Lawrence. Did you file a lawsuit?"

"Arresting Lawrence? What did he do this time? Sebastian, are you misunderstanding something? I haven't filed any lawsuits recently."

Owen wasn't lying. He did plan to sue Lawrence, but his lawyers were still finalizing the paperwork to submit the next day.

"It really wasn't you?"

"Why wouldn't I admit it if I did? But his arrest right now has nothing to do with me. Then again, so what if it was? He's committed countless atrocities and tried to kill Mira and me multiple times. Suing him would be completely justified. If he's being arrested, it's what he deserves!"

With that, Owen hung up.

That last sentence was a sharp slap to the face. Owen had nothing left to say to Sebastian. He had given him enough warnings and advice in the past, but the man had stubbornly listened to Gwen Quinn instead, walking right into a dead end. Now that disaster had struck, he had the nerve to ask for help?

Sebastian had wanted to beg Owen for a solution, but ultimately couldn't bring himself to say it. He knew Owen and Lawrence were sworn enemies. It was a miracle Owen wasn't kicking them while they were down—expecting him to help Lawrence was pure fantasy.

"Probably just the pathetic official wife who swallowed her pride."

"No way, Quinn Montgomery was the real main squeeze. Rumor has it that on the day of his wedding, Lawrence was hooking up with Quinn in the room next to the bridal suite..."

"Gotta say, Lawrence really lived it up. Even if he gets the death penalty now, he certainly enjoyed himself."

That comment immediately sparked fierce backlash.

"Bullshit. Stop spreading that toxic garbage. The man is a vicious criminal. Now that the police have him, he's going to face justice."

"Exactly! It would be a crime against humanity if he isn't punished!"

"Just watch. Karma is catching up to him."

"He ruined so many lives and committed so many atrocities! A monster like him shouldn't even be breathing. I hope he gets executed as soon as possible!"
