They'll be making license plates."
"But they agreed to it and signed the expenditure agreement," Vivienne Voss frowned. The agreement took effect the moment it was signed.
"An agreement? A signature? Those are easily wiped from the company's system. When Dad found out your investment tanked, that's what he told them. But they gave him an ultimatum: either cover the losses, or step down as Board Chair. If he didn't fill the gap, it would be framed as a massive strategic failure costing the group billions, leaving him unfit to lead. He'd lose control of the Voss Group. He had no choice but to use our private family funds to cover it."
Justin Voss looked at Vivienne. "Seven billion dollars! Vivienne, you really had the nerve to throw it all in until not a single cent was left. Are you trying to ruin us? Even for a wealthy family, this is a crippling blow. Shouldn't he be angry? Shouldn't all of us who suffered because of you be furious?"
Vivienne fell silent.
But Justin wasn't finished. "And all for your pathetic need to win! Or rather, just to get Owen Lance to look your way?"
"You?"
"Don't get so worked up. Not only do I know, but Mom and Dad know too."
Vivienne suddenly stared at him. "They know?"
He nodded. "Like I said, don't treat people like idiots. The moment you heard Owen and Mira left, you lost your mind. You desperately scraped together every cent you could to go to Wall Street and beat them. Vivienne, you're blinded by your own arrogance. You lack the ability, but you refuse to admit it. And not only do you deny it, but you had to crash headfirst into a life-or-death battle with them. Hah, competing against Owen and Mira? You were just begging to be destroyed. Owen is already a renowned business genius, and Mira is Lady Oracle! They are prodigies, absolute monsters in the market. Do you understand? You can't even balance your own checkbook, yet you wanted to go toe-to-toe with them? Look at you now, bleeding out. I'm telling you, Vivienne, if you want to self-destruct, don't drag the rest of us down with you! And just now, you actually wanted to provoke them again? Do you realize that if you compromise the group's interests one more time, the board will kick our family out? You were the one who wanted to invest. You brought a massive fortune to the table, and now that you've lost it all, you're blaming others? Where is your brain? The stock market is a battlefield. How they invest is their business. If they profit, that's their skill. You lacked the talent, so you threw a tantrum and blamed them. Did you think they were easy targets? Be careful, or you'll find yourself in an even more pathetic state without laying a finger on them."
