Mira and Owen fooled around for a bit before settling into bed.
Mira wrapped her arms around his, draping one leg over him as she mumbled sleepily, "It's so nice sleeping next to you."
Soon after, her breathing evened out as she drifted off to sleep.
Owen cast a helpless glance beside him, then shifted his gaze downward before hugging her back. "You always want to cuddle, but you never let me go all the way. How did I end up with such a tease?"
In truth, Owen cherished Mira too much to rush things. She was still young, and he wanted to save that beautiful milestone for their wedding night.
Otherwise, with two passionate people sharing the same bed, it would be far too easy to cross the line...
Once Mira was sound asleep, Owen finally sat up, slipped into the bathroom, and turned on the cold water...
Honestly, it was agonizing for him.
Over the next few days, Mira and the team kept a close eye on the Southeast Asian exchange rates and the movements of the major financial syndicates.
"When do we jump in this time?"
Hank Whitlock asked.
"Soon. About three days from now,"
Mira replied.
"Mira, didn't you say we should wait for the big players to make their move before riding the wave?"
Wesley Langdon asked.
"Exactly. And you can rest assured, those syndicates will definitely enter the market in three days."
"How can you be so sure?"
This time, it wasn't just Wesley; everyone turned to look at Mira, including Ethan Mercer.
"Because I'm the reincarnation of the ancient deity of finance, capable of predicting everything."
Hank laughed, turning to Ethan. "Your sister's bragging is getting bolder by the minute!"
Ethan shot back, "What can I say? She has the skills to back it up, unlike you."
Hank sighed playfully. "I admit, I can't compete. But I'm not the only one here lacking those skills—except for Mira, of course."
No one could argue with that.
"Who is this ancient deity of finance? Is it another Oracle you all talk about?"
James Barlow asked after pondering for a moment.
Hahaha...
The group of Mavarians erupted into laughter.
Wesley said, suddenly energized. "I'll recount the Romance of the Three Kingdoms for you tonight."
"Great, I appreciate it."
"Just make sure to tip well.
I've got an eighty-year-old mother and a crying baby to feed back home,"
Wesley said shamelessly.
"Hahaha, Wesley, your grandma might be eighty, but you're not even married."
Hank gave him a weird look.
"He doesn't even have a girlfriend,"
Harvey Rivers chimed in.
"Hey, we're all Mavarian compatriots here, why are you tearing me down?"
Cyrus Montgomery couldn't help but add, "Look, man, if you're going to lie, at least keep it believable so we don't have to cringe."
As a secretary, Cyrus rarely spoke out of turn in front of Mira.
But this was too much to ignore, and he had grown quite comfortable with the group.
