Mira took a quick shower and immediately crashed onto the bed, dead to the world. Owen sat alone on the sofa, trying to play a mobile game, but his brain quickly started turning to mush.
He managed to fight it off at first, but it wasn't long before he was nodding off.
Glancing over at Mira's beautiful, sleeping face, he felt an irresistible pull. Tossing his phone aside, he muttered to himself, why am I making myself suffer?
He crawled into bed, pulled back the covers, and gathered her into his arms.
"What are you doing? I'm exhausted."
Mira murmured, not even opening her eyes.
She gave him a weak push, but Owen easily caught her hand. He stared down at the woman in his arms with deep amusement, curious to see what she would do next.
Instead, she just drifted right back to sleep.
Defeated, and lacking the energy for anything else, Owen simply watched her until he, too, succumbed to exhaustion.
The next day, after breakfast, Master Ellis and Mira began applying the disguises.
First up was James, who was transformed into a Mavarian. "Go on, head over to the WN Exchange and secure our private room first. By the time the rest of us are ready, we can get straight to work."
Master Ellis instructed.
That had been Mira's plan as well. According to her memories of her past life, the massive international syndicates gunning for the Siamese Baht were scheduled to start making their moves today.
Her team's job was to monitor their every move and strike when the timing was absolutely perfect.
James wasn't the only one getting a makeover; his assistant and bodyguards were also given Mavarian features. Otherwise, people would definitely get suspicious seeing his usual entourage trailing behind an unfamiliar Easterner.
Ironically, the moment James stepped out of the hotel, that "snob" Gene Kingsley hurried after him.
"If you don't know your way around, don't just wander off! You're going to bump into someone important and get yourselves into serious trouble."
James just stared at him in disbelief...
If Gene knew he was currently berating his ultimate boss, he'd probably want to bury himself alive.
The foreign bodyguards exchanged bewildered glances, utterly baffled by the exchange.
But they were on a tight schedule. Ignoring Gene entirely, James signaled his men, and they quickly walked away.
Once they were safely inside the car, James turned to his assistant. "Look into whoever hired those two morons. Fire them immediately."
"Yes, Boss.
But since we're currently under the guise of Mavarians, firing them now might draw unwanted attention."
"Fine, wait until this whole operation is over, then fire them."
He wasn't about to let a world-class luxury hotel employ total idiots!
Gene was completely oblivious to the fact that his days were numbered, still busy sucking up to anyone he deemed superior...
In the car, James muttered to himself, "I don't get it. They're both from Mavaria. How can Miss Mercer be so brilliant and capable..."
