Owen's blood boiled the moment he heard it.
"They claimed that since they're Lance family members, I'm just an employee working for them. They even brought a massive team of bodyguards to cause a scene."
"So how did you handle it?"
"I had company security throw them out, naturally."
"Well done."
"But they called the cops, accusing me of trying to illegally seize the Lance family assets.
When the police arrived, they couldn't produce any evidence, while I had the official appointment letter signed by you. The authorities had no choice but to escort them off the premises.
Still, I expect them to come back and cause more trouble tomorrow."
Listening to Jared's report, Owen turned to Mira. "How many days until our next push in the financial markets?"
"About half a month."
Their ordeal in the Balkan Underworld had delayed them by roughly two weeks.
"Half a month is plenty of time."
Owen stated.
"Let's head back to Mavaria first. We've been gone a long time, and Grandma Eleanor is definitely worried about you. We'll stay for a few days and then fly back here."
By arriving in Javenaire a couple of weeks early, Mira had originally planned to discuss international corporate strategies with James.
Solflare Group needed to expand globally sooner or later, and this was the perfect opportunity.
If their financial investments in two weeks paid off, Mira's firm could firmly establish its footing on the global stage.
It would lay an unbreakable foundation for her to dominate the worldwide financial sector.
But...
"Going back for a bit is a good idea. Besides, we still need to liquidate more capital."
Mira said thoughtfully.
"Deal. If I have the time, I'll definitely come witness my student in action.
Since you mentioned the big move is in half a month, I'll go back and scrape some funds together. Once I wrap up the debriefing for this op, I'll request leave and fly back out with you."
Seeing his serious expression, Mira couldn't help but ask, "Can someone in your position actually get time off?"
She found it hard to believe such a high-ranking official could just take a vacation.
Dominic seemed to read her mind. "My job is demanding, but if I want time off, I take it. Nobody's made of iron."
Still, Mira, Owen, and Master Ellis were highly skeptical.
But returning home was the right move. Eleanor knew all about the terrifying incident in Balkana. If Mira didn't show her face soon, the old woman wouldn't have a moment of peace.
Plus, there were plenty of loose ends to tie up back in Mavaria.
On the plane, Master Ellis turned to Owen. "When are you going to finally exterminate that little bastard?"
How was he still bouncing around causing trouble?
