The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 521

When Wynne heard that Sylvan Scully had arrived, her first instinct was to turn him away. But the housekeeper mentioned that he had found their missing daughter and brought her along.

Wynne frowned, a sense of unease settling in her chest. What was Sylvan trying to pull?

She instructed the housekeeper to let them in. The moment Sylvan and Giselle Reed walked through the door, he knew he had played his cards right. The mere mention of their child was the only thing that could guarantee Wynne would see him.

Wynne remained seated on the living room sofa, her gaze icy. She didn't offer them a seat.

"What do you mean, you found my daughter?" she demanded.

Long accustomed to her frigid demeanor, Sylvan offered a gentle smile. "Wynne, this is our daughter. I've already had a DNA test done—it's a match. She was adopted by a couple abroad when she was two. She recently returned to the States to search for her biological parents, which is how we found each other. Her name is Giselle Reed."

Wynne shifted her gaze to the young woman beside him. She was tall, with a flawless, radiant complexion, and her features did hold a faint resemblance to Wynne's own.

But Wynne didn't buy it for a second. Stefan was far more trustworthy than Sylvan, and she needed to discuss this with him first.

"Just because she's a match with you doesn't mean she's a match with me," she said coldly.

"If you don't believe me, take a strand of her hair and run your own test."

Sylvan gave Giselle a pointed look. Without hesitation, she plucked two hairs from her head and offered them over.

Wynne nodded tightly. "Until I see the results for myself, I don't believe either of you."

Sylvan knew she had lost all faith in him years ago, but her blatant distrust still felt like a punch to the gut. They used to be so deeply in love. Now, even a civil conversation felt like an impossible luxury.

"If there's nothing else, you can see yourselves out."

Sylvan cast one last, longing look at her before turning to leave with Giselle.

He had already bought a high-end apartment for Giselle to stay in temporarily. "Giselle, if Wynne wants to see you again, I expect you to cooperate and play the part of her perfect daughter."
