The police questioned the two nannies in the interrogation room.
Tallulah Shipley shot them a piercing glare. The nannies immediately lowered their heads, too terrified to make a sound.
A little while later, Yulen Locke arrived with a lawyer to bail Tallulah out.
Since there was no concrete evidence of abuse, the police could only let them go with a stern warning.
Tallulah cast a triumphant look at Winona Jowett before walking out of the precinct arm-in-arm with Yulen.
Winona followed them outside, her tone sharp with warning. "I took photos of the vet's diagnosis at the clinic. Even if there isn't enough proof right now to definitively charge you with animal cruelty, those injuries were undeniably man-made. I suggest you start treating those cats right, or I won't hesitate to expose you online."
In front of Yulen, Tallulah's demeanor instantly shifted into one of absolute victimization.
"Winona, stop making these baseless accusations! I love those cats like they're my own children. They got hurt because they were fighting over a toy. How could you accuse me of abusing them? You just can't stand seeing Yulen and me together, so you're trying to drag my name through the mud, aren't you? I admit I hurt you in the past, but I've apologized so many times. Why are you still targeting me?"
With that, she placed a hand over her pregnant belly, her face growing deathly pale.
Yulen steadied her arm and shot Winona a freezing glare.
"Don't you think you're being completely unreasonable, Winona? They're just two cats. Did you really need to call the police over this?"
Without waiting for an answer, he guided Tallulah away.
Winona was so angry she couldn't even speak.
They weren't her cats, but she absolutely could not stomach the idea of innocent animals being tortured.
Stefan Goddard walked over and stood beside her. "Even if there's not enough hard evidence right now, people who abuse animals usually have a dark, twisted psychological need for attention. They often record videos and post them online. We'll look into whether she has a burner account dedicated to posting that kind of content. If she does, she's distributing violent material, which is a criminal offense."
Winona nodded. "Do it."

That evening, Yulen and Tallulah returned to the Locke Villa.
Willow was already in a foul mood after being given the cold shoulder by Wynne earlier in the day. The moment she saw Tallulah, her temper flared.
"You're pregnant, yet you're constantly running around causing drama! And when are you going to get rid of those damn cats? They run all over the house, shedding fur everywhere. It's disgusting!"
Scolded the second she walked through the door, Tallulah looked at Yulen with tear-filled eyes.
