Tallulah's eyes widened in utter disbelief. "You are the CEO of the Locke Group now! And you're a married man! Why are your mother and sister still monitoring your personal spending?"
Yulen looked at her as if she were the one being completely unreasonable. "You don't lift a finger around the house. My mother handles every single domestic issue and social obligation for the family, and my third sister, Camille, practically runs the operations side of the company for me. They don't mean any harm; they're just helping me manage my assets. What is the big deal?"
"But we are married!" Tallulah cried, genuinely baffled by the dynamic. "I am your legal wife! I should be the one managing your assets, not them!"
Yulen scoffed, his eyes sweeping over her dismissively. "With the way you burn through cash like it's water, you seriously expect me to hand over the accounts to you?"
Tallulah felt a surge of suffocating rage. Dropping her sweet demeanor, she snapped back defiantly, "I worked on the company's projects! And I gave the Locke family a son! Do I get zero credit for any of that? I'm not allowed to touch the family accounts, and now I'm not even allowed to spend my own allowance?"
Yulen's patience snapped. "I promised you a massive dividend for managing that development project, didn't I? You were the one who ran it straight into the ground and lost the payout! Whose fault is that? And Stanley is my son, but he's yours too. Can you stop using 'giving the Locke family a son' as a bargaining chip every time you want something?"
Tallulah completely lost her temper, abandoning her usual act of the delicate, understanding partner. "Then what is the point of me marrying you? If you won't give me money, if you won't give me love, if you're never around, and if you can't even be loyal to me, why am I risking my life to pop out sons for you?"
Yulen let out a vicious sneer. "Didn't you swear to me that you only wanted me, not my money or my status? Didn't you cry and tell me how much you loved me and how you'd sacrifice everything just to be with me? Tallulah, stop being so painfully fake. I have given you more than enough. The Locke Group constantly feeds premium resources to your family's business, and the monthly allowance I give you is more cash than an ordinary person will see in their entire lifetime. What more could you possibly want?"
They rarely ever fought like this, but tonight, the argument had exploded into a full-blown war over finances.
Tallulah burst into tears, genuinely hoping that Yulen would look at her pregnant belly, soften up, and step forward to coax her into making peace.
But Yulen had been worshipped and catered to his entire life. He was never going to lower himself to beg for forgiveness. With a look of pure disgust, he turned around, slammed the bedroom door, and stormed out of the house.
Willow had been standing right outside the door, listening to the entire screaming match. Her expression was sour with deep displeasure.
