The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 423

He held the baby out for Tallulah to see and casually brought up the name. "I think we should just go with my mom's choice. His legal name will be Stanley Locke, and we can call him Stanley for short. Hopefully, he'll bring us lots of little brothers and sisters in the future."

Seeing that he hadn't asked a single question about her health, and had completely stripped her of the right to even pick her own son's nickname, a sharp wave of grievance hit Tallulah. Tears slipped down her cheeks.

Assuming it was just postpartum hormones, Yulen didn't pay it much mind. Instead, he said, "I'm going to drop you off at the luxury postpartum retreat later. Mom said she'll take the baby home and look after him. You just focus on resting at the clinic. I have to head out for another business trip for half a month, but I'll make sure to spend real time with you when I get back."

Tallulah couldn't hold it in anymore. Her voice trembled weakly. "You promised you would take a month off to stay with me."

Yulen frowned. "Tallulah, be reasonable. There's a mountain of work at the office. How can I just drop everything to go on vacation with you? Besides, you're going to have an entire staff waiting on you and the baby. Isn't that enough?"

To be shipped off to a clinic the moment she gave birth, ignored by her husband, and stripped of her child by her mother-in-law—it was enough to drive Tallulah insane.

Before she could even argue, the baby started crying.

"Is he hungry?" Yulen's tone instantly softened with worry. Without another word, he turned on his heel and carried the baby out of the room.

Tallulah felt like she was suffocating on her own rage. She was practically coughing up blood.

After handing the baby off to the nanny, Yulen stepped back in with a few final instructions. "I'll take you to the retreat, drop the baby at Mom's, and head straight to the airport. If you get bored, call your friends to keep you company. Don't even think about work this month—just rest."

He leaned down and pressed a quick kiss to her forehead. "You did good, Tallulah. Thank you for giving me a son. I'm really happy."

Seeing that he was finally showing a shred of affection, Tallulah poured out her grievances. "Yulen, the only reason I ended up in the hospital early was because Camille stormed into the house and verbally attacked me. Aren't you going to say something to her?"

Even when she was pregnant, Camille had pointed right in her face and cursed her out. Now that she had delivered the heir, Camille was only going to get worse. She was married off—she had no right to dictate Locke family business! She and Yulen were husband and wife. The company belonged to them. What was wrong with the boss's wife offering some operational feedback? Where did Camille get off screaming at her?

On Saturday, Winona and Rhea Sheffield made plans to get their hair done and enjoy a deep tissue shoulder and neck massage.

The spa they booked happened to be located on the ground floor of an ultra-exclusive postpartum wellness clinic.

Staring at the digital ad playing in the elevator, Rhea exaggeratedly dropped her jaw. "Spending millions a month just to sit in a room after having a baby? I will never understand rich people. What are they feeding these moms, dragon meat?"

Winona glanced at the ad, reading the over-the-top descriptions of their luxury services. She had to agree it seemed ridiculously excessive.

Just then, the elevator doors slid open, revealing Tallulah Shipley, dressed in a loose, flowing designer dress and sporting a full, flawless face of makeup.
