The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 395

"Our child was injured on your school grounds," Stefan said, his voice deadly quiet. "I am taking her to the hospital."

The P.E. teacher stepped forward, sweating profusely. "Mr. Goddard, I swear I had no idea she was actually hurt! She faked an injury last month to get out of class, so I just assumed—"

Stefan cut him off with a single, glacial look. The man's mouth snapped shut, terrified to even make eye contact.

Stefan turned to Samantha. "Did you pull the security footage? Do we have the names of the students who assaulted her?"

"Surely we don't need to use the word assault," the principal interjected nervously. "It was just children playing rough..."

"Playing rough?" Stefan's eyes narrowed dangerously.

"I have the footage, Mr. Goddard," Samantha said sharply. Seeing those older, much larger boys hurl basketballs at Greta's head had made her blood boil. As a mother herself, if anyone had treated her child that way, she would have burned the place to the ground. "Do you want me to call the police?"

Stefan looked back at the principal. "I am a very vindictive man. You have a choice. You can call their parents in right now to handle this, or I can call the authorities."

The principal frantically wiped his forehead and ordered the homeroom teacher to start dialing.

One of the main bullies was a boy named Jordan Sutton. His parents were "too busy" to come, so they sent his uncle instead.

The man strutted in, looked around, and immediately scoffed at the principal. "My nephew was just having a little fun with his classmate, and you're slapping him with a 'bullying' label? Do you have any idea how damaging that is to a child's mental health? I don't care what happened. You're going to make that little girl apologize to him."

His nephew had already told him Greta was from a poor, nobody family. He wasn't about to give her or her guardians the time of day.

The principal looked like he was going to have a heart attack. Before he could frantically explain, Stefan spoke.

"My child was terrorized, and you think *she* owes you an apology? That's a new one."

Jordan's uncle, who only ran a minor supply company, didn't recognize the billionaire standing in front of him. He sneered, "Your kid is a pathological liar. Nobody likes her. That's a *her* problem, not an *us* problem. Clearly, she wasn't raised right. If you can't afford to teach a kid manners, you shouldn't have had one."

The principal was desperately winking and gesturing for the man to shut up, but he was completely oblivious.

Stefan pulled the premium snacks from his pocket and offered them. "Want some?"

Greta's face lit up in a brilliant smile. "Thank you!"

Stefan took her straight to an elite private hospital for x-rays and treatment, then carried her up to his penthouse apartment.

He had skipped going back to the office just to stay with her. He didn't know much about kids, but he had a younger sister; he knew how to make Roxana comfortable.

"You can watch TV, or you can play with Biscuit," he said, gesturing to the fluffy dog. "The fridge is stocked with juice, milk, and pastries. Have whatever you want. When Winona finishes work, she'll come get you. I'm going to be in my study working. If you need anything, shout."

"Okay. Thank you, Mr. Goddard," Greta said perfectly.

Stefan frowned slightly. "You don't need to thank me, Greta. Consider me family."

Remembering what he had told her at the ice rink about marrying Winona, Greta quickly course-corrected. "Got it, Stefan."
