The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 350

Watching Winona leave, Sylvan couldn't resist dropping a warning. "That Ms. Jowett is a very cunning woman, Victor. For your own sake, you'd be wise to keep your distance."

Victor rolled his eyes internally. Sylvan's judgment had always been garbage, even when they were younger.

"You're sorely mistaken, Sylvan. Ms. Jowett is exceptionally talented."

Seeing Victor blindly defend her, Sylvan assumed he had been bewitched by her pretty face.

But he had more important things to discuss and didn't want to waste time arguing over a woman.

"Victor, I heard you're planning to terminate your contract with the Locke Group. Surely there's been some sort of misunderstanding? Could you do me a personal favor and reconsider?"

Victor already felt there was absolutely nothing left to discuss regarding the Locke Group.

And seeing Sylvan of all people advocating for them only cemented his decision to finalize the termination as quickly as possible.

The Locke family definitely knew about Sylvan's sordid history with Wynne. They had happily taken millions in investments from the Powell family, yet here they were, buddying up to Sylvan. It was repulsive.

Victor's face went completely cold. "There is no misunderstanding. The Locke Group's R&D capabilities are nowhere near what they claim. We simply followed standard procedure and terminated the partnership. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have somewhere to be."

Without giving Sylvan a chance to respond, Victor turned and walked away.

Sylvan stood there, utterly humiliated that Victor hadn't given him an ounce of respect.

As for Victor's claim that the Locke Group's R&D was lacking? Sylvan didn't believe it for a second.

He was currently doing business with the Locke Group himself, and the R&D proposals they had submitted were brilliant. It completely contradicted Victor's excuse.

Victor was obviously just being petty over some personal grudge and making up reasons to back out.

Sylvan felt bad that he couldn't deliver for Yulen, but he figured it was fine. He could always help the Locke Group out in other ways later. Yulen wouldn't hold it against him.

And Yulen was absolutely at the center of it.

She sat on the living room sofa, her expression dark, waiting for Yulen to get home. She was going to have it out with him.

Late that night, Yulen finally walked into the villa. Seeing Winona actually waiting for him in the living room, a surge of pleasant surprise washed over him.

"Winona, have you had dinner yet?" he asked warmly, tossing his suit jacket over the arm of the sofa and moving to sit next to her.

Winona shot him a glacial glare and shifted away from him.

"I need to ask you something."

Yulen smiled brightly. "Perfect. I actually need a favor from you too."

Assuming her presence meant she was finally softening toward him, his tone became incredibly presumptuous. "About the video... Tallulah knows she made a mistake. And really, she's not entirely to blame. Her mother was the one egging her on. For my sake, can you just drop the lawsuit against her?"
