Felicia tried to sit up. Tommy hurriedly adjusted the hospital bed to a comfortable angle and fluffed the pillows behind her back.
She quietly asked him not to breathe a word of this to anyone. Tommy knew she meant keeping it a secret from Jeremy. Although he was deeply concerned about her condition, he could not bring himself to go against Evelynn’s wishes. He simply nodded and promised to keep his mouth shut.
A nurse walked into the room to deliver Felicia's prescribed vitamins. She went over the necessary precautions and suggested that the surgery could be scheduled for the following week. Once they left the ward and headed downstairs, Tommy paid the medical bills before driving her away from the hospital. He fully intended to take her straight home to rest.
"Take me to the office," Felicia instructed from the passenger seat.
"I think you really need to rest today. Your health has to come first," Tommy pleaded gently.
"I'm fine now. Let's just go grab something to eat at Southside Borough first," she insisted.
Seeing that she would not be swayed, Tommy had no choice but to agree. She had only received an IV drip of glucose at the hospital and had not eaten a single thing all day, leaving her stomach completely empty.
When they arrived at Zane’s Pho House in Southside Borough, the rich aroma of the broth instantly stirred her appetite. Felicia managed to finish an entire bowl of hearty Pho. Watching her actually eat something substantial finally allowed Tommy to breathe a sigh of relief. Afterward, he drove her to the company headquarters.
Felicia immediately threw herself back into her work. She spent the entire morning attending meetings and meticulously reviewing crucial project data. At noon, Tommy brought her lunch, making sure to select mild, easily digestible foods with no overpowering scents. By the end of the long workday, no one in the office could tell anything was wrong, other than noticing she looked a bit thinner than before. Only Felicia herself could feel the heavy toll on her body. She lacked her usual boundless energy and found it difficult to juggle multiple tasks at once.
When she returned home that evening, Felicia dutifully took the vitamins Dr. Halloway had prescribed, and she tossed the rest of her old medication straight into the trash.
After washing up, she leaned back against her headboard with her tablet, scrolling through listings for nearby apartments. Whenever she found one that looked promising, she forwarded the link to Tommy, asking him to check it out the next day.
Tommy quickly replied with a simple message of agreement. Just then, Jeremy called him, primarily to check on Felicia's condition. Tommy hesitated for a moment before deciding to keep her secret. "She is doing perfectly fine," he lied.
"She seemed fine today. I couldn't spot anything unusual, but I honestly don't know what she plans to do," Tommy admitted.
"I understand. Just keep a close eye on her for now," Jeremy instructed calmly.
"There is one more thing. Evelynn is planning to move out of her current place. She just sent me a list of nearby apartment complexes, and I'm going to look at them tomorrow," Tommy added. He knew the house belonged to Max. The fact that Evelynn wanted to leave so abruptly meant something had fundamentally broken between them, and the pregnancy only complicated matters further.
"Go check out the apartments tomorrow," Jeremy agreed.
The very next day, Tommy found the perfect place. It was a high-end apartment complex located just a short distance from the office. Since Felicia did not have much to pack, she decided to move out immediately after work. As she was gathering her things, she ran into the two live-in nannies who had previously taken care of her.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
