Jeremy did not object. "Let's go."
The two began walking back. However, the atmosphere between them had suddenly lost its previous natural harmony. Upon reaching the parking lot, Jeremy opened her car door for her.
"Get some rest early tonight."
"I will," Felicia replied. "Drive safely, Jeremy."
After saying their goodbyes, Felicia got into the car. When she arrived back at the Ross estate, she saw Greg.
"Greg, are Mom and Dad back?"
"They are back," Greg replied. "They are upstairs. The housekeeper just mentioned that you brought your luggage back today."
Felicia nodded, offering no further explanation.
Greg let out a soft sigh, unsure of what to say. Perhaps ending things this way was for the best, allowing Felicia to finally start anew.
"I am going to go check on Dad first," she said.
"Go ahead."
Felicia went upstairs to the bedroom. Colton's health was perfectly fine. He had merely gone in for a routine checkup after feeling a bit unwell earlier that day. Seeing that her father was alright, Felicia felt a wave of relief.
She returned to her own room, washed up, and emerged from the bathroom to find Ava waiting.
"Mom."
Ava stepped forward, taking Felicia's hands in hers. "You can live at home from now on."
Felicia offered a faint smile. "I am afraid I will only stay for another two days."
Ava looked momentarily stunned.
"I have to go to Cloudville for work in a couple of days. If I do not show up soon, people might start thinking I own the company."
Ava chuckled softly. "That is good too. It is time to get back to work." Working would keep her busy and stop her from overthinking things. Ava did not stay to chat much longer. "Get some rest early tonight."
"I will."
Colton took the phone and answered. "Hi, Darin."
"Dad, have you had dinner yet?" Darin asked.
"Yes, we have. What about you? I heard Max is doing better. When will you be coming back?"
"I cannot come back just yet. How is Felicia? Is she at home?"
"She is home today. By the way, does Max know about the divorce yet?"
"He just woke up today," Darin replied. He recalled the moment Max opened his eyes, his gaze scanning the hospital room as if searching for someone, only to find the person he wanted to see absent. Once he was fully lucid, he had asked absolutely nothing.
"I see," Colton murmured.
"How is Felicia holding up?"
"She is doing fine, so do not worry about her. Just take good care of yourself over there."
"I will."

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
