Savannah sighed heavily over the line. "He has not changed one bit. He just dodges me at every possible turn."
Felicia could not help but marvel at the stark contrast. Darin and Greg were complete opposites. Heather had effortlessly captured Greg without breaking a sweat, whereas Savannah was fighting an uphill battle. Perhaps it all came down to the environments they were raised in.
"I do not believe he can avoid delivering the holiday gifts to your family," Savannah declared with determination.
Felicia chuckled. "Alright. When will you get here?"
"I am boarding in ten minutes. I should be there in time for dinner."
"No rush. We will wait for you."
"Perfect."
They chatted for a few more minutes before hanging up. Savannah had originally wanted to update Felicia on the Curtis family's spectacular downfall. Word on the grapevine was that their business had suffered a devastating, likely irreversible blow. Andrea's family no longer possessed the power to interfere with Darin's life in any capacity. The main reason Darin had returned to Northwick was because Mr. Curtis wanted to negotiate with him, though Savannah was unsure of the outcome.
Yvonne was still recovering in the hospital from her terrible car accident, and Andrea was likely living out her own miserable karma. It truly was a case of poetic justice... what goes around, comes around.
Yet, as the words reached the tip of her tongue, Savannah held back. The Curtis family's drama had nothing to do with Felicia anymore. Yvonne did not deserve the title of Felicia's mother anyway. As long as Felicia had Ava, she was surrounded by genuine love.
Later that afternoon, Felicia walked downstairs and spotted Luke coming in from the courtyard.
"Hi Luke," she greeted warmly.
Luke offered a polite nod. "Felicia, you are back. Have you gotten used to living in Cloudville?"
"I suppose so. There has not been anything too difficult to adjust to."
He nodded approvingly. "That is good. Actually, I came over to ask for a favor."
"Alright, I will try," Felicia agreed.
"Let us head inside first."
The moment they stepped into the grand living room, the housekeeper rushed down the stairs in an absolute panic. Seeing Luke, she cried out, "Sir, Miss Willa has fainted!"
Half an hour later, a private doctor arrived at the villa and hooked the unconscious girl up to an IV drip.
Looking at Willa, Felicia was completely taken aback by her ethereal beauty. Her dark, glossy hair spilled across the pillows, framing a face as delicate and perfect as a porcelain doll. Her skin possessed a sickly, fragile pallor, and her lips were slightly parted as she drew shallow breaths. She was heartbreakingly beautiful. Aside from Olisha, Felicia had never seen a girl with such captivating features.
"It is nothing serious," the doctor assured them while adjusting the drip. "She is suffering from malnutrition due to prolonged starvation. Once these fluids replenish her system, she should wake up shortly."
Luke gave a short nod of acknowledgment, and the doctor packed his things and left.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
