"Speaking of which, how did the two of you even end up together in the first place?" Felicia asked. She had never actually asked about this before. Initially, she had assumed there was absolutely no chance of them ever rekindling things, and later, there simply seemed to be no point in dragging up the past.
Savannah leaned back, getting lost in the memories. "It is actually quite dramatic when you think about it. I fell in love with him at first sight during my freshman year of high school. He was two years older than me, and he was undeniably the most famous guy in school. He was an academic god who consistently ranked first in every subject, and he was incredibly handsome to boot. He was just so intensely cold. No matter who pursued him, short, fat, pretty, or ugly, he brutally rejected every single one of them. There were even rampant rumors going around that he liked men."
"Naturally, I was one of the many girls he rejected. I completely refused to accept it at the time. I had a great body and a gorgeous face. What right did he have to reject me? I was absolutely dead set on getting my hands on him. So, I chased him all the way into college. When he eventually went off to study in the United States, I constantly flew out to find him. I cannot even begin to count how many times his rejections broke my heart during those years."
"Right when I was finally on the verge of giving up, he returned to the country. Out of nowhere, he called me and said he wanted to be my boyfriend. In that exact moment, I honestly felt like the sun had finally risen in my life. I was so ecstatic that I could not sleep for the entire night. Only much later did I discover that the Curtis family was preparing to arrange blind dates for him. Looking back on it now, he had absolutely no power to refuse the Curtis family's demands back then. I was nothing more than a convenient meat shield for him to use as an excuse. But, of course, I was entirely willing to play the part."
Felicia listened in quiet awe. Looking at it this way, their experiences were shockingly similar. The only difference was that back then, Savannah had been incredibly beautiful, fiercely confident, and fully equipped with the capital to pursue what she wanted.
Felicia, on the other hand, had entirely lacked that confidence. She had only been able to bury her love deep within her heart, completely lacking the courage to take a single step forward. She had never even dared to dream of actually being with Max. Back then, her only pathetic hope was to stay by his side and earn his minimal approval. That alone would have been enough for her.
Yet, fate had relentlessly intertwined their lives anyway. It perfectly validated the old saying: no matter how meticulously you calculate your plans, it can never compare to a single, effortless stroke of destiny's pen.
"Looking at it that way, you must be the only girl he has ever actually dated," Felicia pointed out.
Felicia lowered her gaze slowly, pondering the question for a long while before finally speaking. "Honestly, I really do not know."
Savannah chose not to press her any further. She knew that deep down, Felicia was nowhere near as strong as she pretended to be. She was incredibly sensitive. Having never experienced a complete, healthy family dynamic, her heart simply was not resilient enough to easily navigate such complex romantic entanglements.
The same logic applied to Darin. Even if he had never directly done anything to physically harm her, he had absolutely been the instigator of her suffering. Now he was desperately trying to beg for her forgiveness. She was already trapped in a suffocating situation with Max that she had no choice but to accept and absolutely no way to resolve. She likely had absolutely no energy left to deal with Darin on top of it all.
Savannah's heart ached fiercely for her friend. She instantly regretted running her mouth and asking the question in the first place. "You really should not forgive him so easily," she firmly advised. "Even if he did not know you were his biological sister at the time, the fact remains that he willingly enabled Andrea to aggressively interfere in your marriage. His actions hurt you deeply, and that is a brutal fact that can never be erased."

Take her back? Want to see her?? Donno about Felicia but I think I’m falling for this Max somehow🫠🙈pls update daily...
I knew it! Hopefully Felicia's health will improve and will want to have the baby. Oh how I despise Max's family....
Please post *I forgot I ever loved you*...
Is this coming to an end...
Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
