That afternoon, Felicia picked Anne up from school and returned to Oakridge Estate, where she had the staff prepare a guest room. Luke sent her a quick message right before boarding the high-speed rail.
By six o'clock, Felicia was still waiting for Luke and Willa so they could all have dinner together. Anne had already eaten a snack upon coming home, so she was not particularly hungry.
Half an hour passed. Felicia tried calling Luke to check on their progress, but the phone simply rang until it disconnected. Unease crept in, prompting her to call Max instead.
He answered promptly.
"Are Luke and the others not here yet?" Felicia asked.
"They got off the train halfway through the journey," Max explained. "It will probably take them another hour or so."
"Does Jeffrey know Luke is bringing Willa back today?"
"Yes."
It seemed Jeffrey really was monitoring Luke and Willa's every move.
"Have you had dinner yet?" Max asked.
"I was waiting for them."
"You and Anne go ahead and eat first," Max instructed. "When they arrive, I will have the kitchen prepare something fresh for them."
"Alright."
It was not until eight-thirty that the sound of engines drifted in from outside. Felicia stood up and walked toward the living room entrance, watching two cars slowly pull to a stop.
Max stepped out of the first car and met Felicia's eyes. Moments later, Luke emerged from the second vehicle. He took long strides around the hood, opened the passenger door, and gently helped the young woman inside step out. Even under the cover of night, her exquisitely skin seemed to glow. She wore a pair of round, delicate glasses resting on the bridge of her nose.
Willa looked toward the steps and saw Felicia, who offered her a warm, welcoming smile.
Luke leaned in and murmured something softly in Willa's ear. Willa gave a small nod.
Max approached Felicia first. "Have you had dinner?"
"Yes," Felicia replied. She watched Luke and Willa, a wave of profound relief washing over her. "Luke, you are finally back."
Willa turned her attention to Felicia. "Ms. Ross." Her eyes, now fully restored, were exceptionally bright and clear.
"It is chilly out here," Felicia said gently. "Let's go inside."
They headed indoors. When Anne saw her uncle, her eyes widened in pure delight. She ran over, cheering. "Uncle Luke!"
Luke stepped forward, bending down to lift the little girl high into the air before pulling her securely into his arms. "Did you miss me?"
Anne nodded vigorously. "Yes. I have not seen you in so long."

Take her back? Want to see her?? Donno about Felicia but I think I’m falling for this Max somehow🫠🙈pls update daily...
I knew it! Hopefully Felicia's health will improve and will want to have the baby. Oh how I despise Max's family....
Please post *I forgot I ever loved you*...
Is this coming to an end...
Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
