The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 1084
The next day, shortly after arriving at the office, Max received some explosive news. Last night, someone had photographed Dannie slipping out of Jeremy's hotel room with disheveled clothes. Jeremy had attended a dinner gathering linked to the summit and had stayed overnight at the hotel.
Upon seeing the headline, Max simply let out a contemptuous laugh. He had thought Dannie possessed some actual competence, but in the end, she had to resort to such cheap tricks. Still, a woman's best weapon was indeed her body. If she managed to get pregnant, she could easily force her way into a marriage. Now that the scandal was out, Jeremy would undoubtedly be thrust into the center of a media storm. However, Dannie gaining such easy access to his room and the news leaking so perfectly timed meant she definitely had outside help. Judging by the current situation, Jeremy's team was making no effort to scrub the articles, leaving Max to wonder what countermeasure the professor had prepared.
Felicia also saw the news when she woke up. Heather called her shortly after, absolutely furious. Normally mild-mannered, Heather was actually swearing out of sheer anger.
"I have never met a woman so shameless, despicable, and entirely lacking in basic decency. There is absolutely no way my brother would have anything to do with that wretch. I guarantee she orchestrated this whole thing to stir up hype and use public opinion to trap him."
Felicia listened quietly, not nearly as incensed as her friend. She replied in a steady tone, "I am sure Dannie did not get what she wanted."
Heather paused for a moment. "You believe in him, don't you, Felicia?"
"If Dannie had actually succeeded, she wouldn't be making such a loud spectacle of it," Felicia reasoned. If Dannie couldn't win a man's heart, her backup plan would be to claim his body and use a child to elevate her status. Dannie was the type of person who wouldn't stop until she achieved her goal. Had she genuinely slept with Jeremy, she would have kept quiet and simply waited to see if she got pregnant. Although, Felicia felt she had little right to judge another woman's methods. "Besides, I believe Jeremy is not that easy to trap. You don't need to worry, Heather. He will definitely handle this properly."
Heather's tone softened with relief. "You really do know my brother best. I saw on the news that the summit host was originally supposed to be someone else. The original host was pulled at the last minute and replaced by her. Does the Lowe family really have that kind of influence?"
Felicia's eyes darkened as she processed the information. The Lowe family certainly did not have the necessary connections to pull a host from a major summit at the eleventh hour. This meant that without outside help, Dannie would never have secured the role or gotten the chance to approach Jeremy in the first place.
After chatting a bit more, Felicia hung up the phone. She sat in silence for a while before dialing Jeremy's number, anxious to know how things were on his end.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
