The group watched the two bicker while Darin sat quietly to the side, sipping his coffee. It was impossible to tell what was going through his mind at that moment. Felicia glanced over at him. Noticing her gaze, Darin smoothly looked away, curled his lips into a faint smile, and spoke up. "What is it?"
"It's nothing," Felicia replied.
The gathering continued until two in the afternoon. Felicia prepared to leave, as she had promised to pick up Anne and refused to break her word to her daughter.
"I'll give you a ride," Jeremy offered.
Before Felicia could respond, Darin walked over. "I'll take Felicia. Jeremy, you just stay here."
Jeremy looked at Darin and gave a slight nod, deciding not to argue the point.
"Let's go, Felicia," Darin said.
Felicia said her goodbyes to Jeremy and the others before walking toward the parking area with Darin. Anthony strolled over to Jeremy, casually draping an arm over his shoulder with a sigh. "He has a long and difficult road ahead."
If it were not for Anne, Jeremy would have likely made his move much sooner. Unfortunately, Felicia's life and emotional capacity were already heavily occupied by her daughter.
On the drive back to the city, Darin broke the silence. "Have you ever considered remarrying in the future, Felicia?"
Felicia turned her head to look out the car window. "Your own love life is still up in the air, yet you have the energy to worry about mine."
Darin kept his eyes fixed on the road ahead. "Your life is the most important thing to me right now."
When Felicia remained silent, Darin continued. "It's true that talking about remarriage isn't appropriate right now. Based on how Max is acting, he likely won't let you go peacefully. Just focus on being there for Anne for now."
Felicia listened to his words without giving a response. The traffic was light on the way back, and forty minutes later, they arrived at the office building. As they walked into the lobby, they spotted a man leaning against a sofa with his eyes closed, resting.
"I'll go up and see Anne first," Felicia said, walking straight toward the elevators.
Max opened his eyes at that exact moment. His gaze caught the silhouette of the woman passing through the turnstiles. Before he could get a clearer look, Darin stepped in front of him and placed a small paper bag on the coffee table.
Max glared at him, his dark brows knitting together.

Take her back? Want to see her?? Donno about Felicia but I think I’m falling for this Max somehow🫠🙈pls update daily...
I knew it! Hopefully Felicia's health will improve and will want to have the baby. Oh how I despise Max's family....
Please post *I forgot I ever loved you*...
Is this coming to an end...
Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
