The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 1036
Inside the tea room, the sound of the rain pattered softly against the windows, while the interior remained completely hushed. When Felicia saw Nate, he looked utterly drained of energy.
"Hi, Nate," Felicia greeted softly.
"Grandpa," Amber added.
Nate gave a slow nod. "You are here. Come sit for a while."
Amber and Felicia took their seats. Felicia looked at him with deep concern. "You need to take good care of your health, Nate."
"This old body of mine can still hold up," Nate replied with a weary sigh. "But you look like you have lost a terrible amount of weight, Felicia. You are so young. Do not ruin your health now, or you will not be able to handle the strain when you are older."
"I know. I will take good care of myself," Felicia promised.
Nate shook his head slightly. "From what I can see, taking care of yourself is exactly what you are failing to do."
Felicia lowered her eyes and pressed her lips together, entirely unsure of what to say. Jeremy smoothly intervened. "I am sure she will take your words to heart, Nate."
"It would be best if she did," Nate mumbled.
The three of them did not stay long, not wanting to disturb Nate's rest. As they walked out of the main hall, Amber noticed Jeremy and Felicia seemed to have something to discuss, so she tactfully stepped away. "I will wait for you up ahead," she told Felicia.
"Alright," Felicia replied.
Amber watched the two of them from a distance through the curtain of rain. Felicia and Jeremy exchanged a few quiet words before Jeremy said his goodbyes and turned to leave. Felicia stood there, watching him walk away, before finally turning and heading toward Amber.
"Are you done talking?" Amber asked as she approached.
"Yes," Felicia answered.
"Let’s go then."
"That makes sense," Wyatt murmured. "No wonder she looks so incredibly thin. Is it from severe morning sickness?"
When Amber was pregnant with their second child, her morning sickness had been brutal, leaving her emaciated and lethargic. Felicia's current state looked exactly like what Amber had gone through. "Most likely. Plus, with everything she has been through recently, I honestly wonder if she will even be able to carry the baby to term."
Wyatt let out a heavy sigh. "Max probably has no idea. I really do not understand what terrible sins they committed against each other in their past lives to end up torturing each other like this now."
Amber nodded in agreement. "Max's attitude today infuriated me. After creating such a massive scandal, what right does he have to give Felicia the cold shoulder?"
"His grandfather just died, so he is in a terrible place emotionally. There might also be unresolved issues between them. But I agree, his behavior today was entirely out of line," Wyatt admitted.
"I really think Jeremy is a much better fit for her. Max cannot offer her any emotional value, nor can he give her a sense of security," Amber stated firmly.
Wyatt sighed softly, finding himself completely unable to argue.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
