The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 39

Janet's eyes blew wide in sheer terror. "Are you insane?!"

Morgan's men easily grabbed her by the arms and forced her to her knees. She thrashed wildly, completely horrified that these massive bodyguards were actually about to rip her clothes off in the middle of a hospital hallway.

"My father is the mayor!" she shrieked, red-faced with panic and fury.

"I'd say the same thing if he was standing right here," Juno replied, her expression completely flat.

"Juno Mercer!!!"

Her hysterical screaming must have been too much for the neighboring patients. A young guy in a wheelchair suddenly rolled out of the next room. "This is a hospital! Do you mind shutting up?!"

Morgan glanced over. The kid had his arm in a sling, a bandage slapped across his cheek, and was awkwardly wheeling himself into the hallway.

The boy looked down, suddenly realizing the girl screaming on the floor was Janet. His jaw dropped. "What are you doing here?"

"Babur! Save me!" Janet wailed, latching onto him like a lifeline.

Morgan seamlessly stepped to Juno's side, leaning in to murmur, "That's Babur. Your younger brother."

She slowly turned her gaze toward Babur. He looked like an absolute moron.

Babur wheeled himself closer, squinting suspiciously at her. She looked incredibly intimidating—definitely not someone you wanted to mess with.

He leaned over, awkwardly dragging Janet up from the floor and pulling her behind his wheelchair. "What's your problem?! We're in public! People are watching! You can't just bully people like this!"

He glanced nervously up and down the corridor. Not a single nurse or doctor was in sight. The only people watching were her massive security guards.

He gulped loudly. They were massively outnumbered. The smartest move right now was to retreat.

He grabbed the wheels and tried to spin around, but Juno clamped her hand onto the back of his chair, a dark, wicked smile curving her lips. "Where do you think you're going, little buddy?"

She had total control. As long as she held on, Babur was going absolutely nowhere.

"Do you know who I am?! Do you know who my dad is?!"

"If my dad finds out you laid a hand on me, he'll destroy you!!"

"And who exactly is your dad?"

She asked, sounding faintly amused.
