The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 101

Seeing Juno Mercer staring at her dress, the socialite's vanity was instantly satisfied.

She had heard of Juno. Coming from the countryside, she obviously had never seen such a piece of haute couture before.

The socialite was aggressive. "This isn't something a simple apology can fix."

Babur Corrington asked, "Then what do you want?"

"The dress is ruined, and you clearly can't afford to pay for it." She pretended to think for a moment. "How about you get on your knees and lick the wine clean off the floor?"

The ruined dress was beyond saving, but improving her foul mood wasn't.

Yet, this demand was nothing short of an intentional, humiliating provocation.

Mrs. Sherwood couldn't listen anymore. "The dress is expensive, but it's still just a piece of clothing. This demand is going too far."

The socialite maintained her haughty attitude. "Too far? Mrs. Sherwood, I don't want to argue with you over this. I went through hell to get this dress. It's limited-edition haute couture that ordinary people could never even touch. There are only three in the entire world, exquisitely designed, and won't go out of style for at least five years. Such an astronomically priced gown was just ruined by a glass of red wine. Don't you think that's a tragedy?

As a woman, I didn't want to make things difficult for anyone on such an important occasion, but a single glass of wine has ruined my entire evening. I only came here out of respect for you, Mrs. Sherwood. I supported your event, and now you're taking the side of a kid who made a mistake?"

She was deeply dissatisfied with how this was being handled.

Hearing this, Mrs. Sherwood refused to back down. "But your demand is completely unreasonable. It was just an accident."

"Stop, stop, stop, Mrs. Sherwood. I don't want to stand here and debate these trivialities with you. I don't care about the process; I only care about the result. The dress is ruined. He either gets on his knees and licks the floor clean, or you pay for it."

The two sides were at a standstill.

Juno was wearing an earpiece, and Morgan's voice filtered through. "I've looked into it, and you were right. There are indeed only three pieces in existence. You own one, the First Lady of Country H has one, and the Queen of Country R has the other. Nobody in Kingsland bought one."

Juno took out her earpiece and continued watching the farce unfold.

Babur bit his lower lip hard. He really messed up this time.

Juno patted the back of his hand. "It's nothing."

Babur lowered his voice. "But it sounds incredibly expensive."
