"Dude!!! That's incredible!!!"
The rest of the guys felt like they were watching an action movie. "No way! Okay, now I really want to meet this girl!"
"Oh man, so that's the kind of vibe she has. She completely owns it."
"Juno fits her perfectly. Goddess of protection, but completely ruthless!"
She was wild, arrogant, and entirely unbound by the rules.
Wyatt was practically vibrating with excitement. "Our Taekwondo Club desperately needs a prodigy like her!!"
The very next day, Wyatt began trailing her the second class let out.
When she went to the cafeteria, he followed.
When she shot hoops, he lingered by the bleachers.
When she sat on the grass to read, he hovered nearby.
He was waiting for her to finally snap and ask him what the hell he was doing, but after two full days of stalking, she acted like he didn't even exist.
Unable to take the silence anymore, he finally caved. "Juno, do you remember me?"
"Wyatt."
She tossed out his name without even looking up from her book.
He beamed, instantly thrilled. "You know my name?"
She lowered the book, her tone totally flat. "You've been hovering around me for two days. Every ten minutes someone yells, 'Hey Wyatt, what are you doing?!' It would require effort for me not to know."
"Right. So, listen, are you interested in joining the Taekwondo Club?"
"No."
She wasn't about to waste her time on pointless college extracurriculars.
"Are you sure? You've got amazing skills. Don't you ever just get the itch to spar?"
"You're mistaken. I didn't learn how to fight just for the fun of beating people up."
"Okay, look, I'll be honest with you. I'm desperate. Our college is merging with another campus, and they have their own martial arts club. The administration says only one club gets to keep the funding. So those guys keep coming over here, picking fights and trying to humiliate us.
And we keep getting absolutely trashed."
