Seeing that she had no intention of stopping, the maid scrambled after her. "Ms. Mercer!! Your room is on the first floor!"
She physically blocked Juno's path, desperate to keep her off the stairs.-
Juno glanced at her. In grand estates like this, the first floor was typically reserved for guest rooms and staff quarters.
"Who made that arrangement?"
The older maid gave her a weird look. Did she get amnesia at the hospital?
Despite her suspicions, she maintained a neutral front. "Miss Rhiannon set it up for you herself. She said you really loved it."
"Which floor is her room on?"
Confused, the maid replied, "Third floor, left down the hall."
Juno shoved her aside and stepped into the private elevator with her detail, heading straight for the third floor.
The old maid's stomach dropped. Sensing disaster, she frantically grabbed a few estate guards and sprinted up the stairs.
Juno walked directly into Rhiannon's suite. The interior decor, the custom furniture, and the meticulous attention to detail all screamed that the occupant had poured her heart and soul into this space.
But in Juno's eyes, it was all trash.
"Clear it out."
At her command, the bodyguards flooded into the luxurious suite and systematically began hauling the furniture into the hallway.
The old maid arrived just in time to witness the carnage. She nearly fainted.
"Ms. Mercer!! What do you think you're doing?! You can't just run wild because the master and madam aren't home!!!"
Juno cast a sidelong glance at her. "Didn't you say Rhiannon put a lot of heart into decorating my room? I thought about it, and it would be a shame to let her hard work go to waste. So, she can have it. I'll take one for the team and suffer up here."
She put a heavy, sarcastic emphasis on suffering up here.
The bodyguards worked with terrifying speed, stripping the suite bare. In the chaos, several expensive decorative pieces shattered against the walls.
"But you loved the room Miss Rhiannon made for you?! Why go through all this trouble!" The maid was panicking. She couldn't just stand by while Juno tore the house apart.
Juno pressed her tongue against her back teeth, her eyes narrowing dangerously. "I decide what I like. Who the hell gave you the right to guess what I want?"
The maid choked on her words, completely paralyzed as she watched the last of the items get hauled away. Meanwhile, an entire set of brand-new, ultra-modern furniture was being carried in from outside.
Had she planned this all along?
Defeated, the old maid stood helplessly by Juno's side as she directed the men.
Amid the flurry of activity, Juno turned to one of her guards. "Get me a chair. And some food."
She was exhausted. Her current body was severely malnourished, and standing for even a few minutes was making her vision go dark.
