The Corrington family's immense wealth and privilege had nurtured her well. Over the years, Rhiannon had blossomed into a tall, striking young woman with bright, innocent-looking eyes. At a glance, she seemed like the epitome of grace.
The outfit she was wearing easily cost upward of thirty grand. She was sure living an exceptionally luxurious life!
"Juno Mercer? What is the meaning of this? Grandma gets back, and you immediately start throwing your weight around?"
Rhiannon went on the offensive, her tone aggressive and demanding.
But Juno ignored her entirely. She tapped her slender fingers rhythmically against the sofa, waiting for something.
Rhiannon was taken aback by this blatant dismissal. Why did it feel like a completely different person had woken up in that bed?
Then, she let out a disdainful scoff. Trash would always be trash. How much could she really change? If she could kill her once, she could easily do it again.
Juno's fingers stopped tapping. She stood up.
The baggy hospital gown hung loosely on her frame, the sleeves drooping far past her hands.
She gracefully rolled up her sleeves, her expression unreadable.
Rhiannon shot her a confused look.
A second later, a bodyguard stepped forward carrying a silver tray. Resting on the velvet surface was the exact syringe the nurse had failed to inject earlier.
Rhiannon's expression flickered.
Juno closed the distance between them, her narrowed eyes locking onto the girl. "Look familiar?"
Rhiannon refused to take the bait. "Are you insane?"
Juno let out a dark chuckle. A flash of pure ruthlessness crossed her face before she suddenly kicked Rhiannon, sending her crashing to the floor. "You want to play dumb with me now?"
Shock registered on Rhiannon's face. Recovering quickly, she scrambled up to strike back, but Juno's hand flew out, delivering a brutal slap across her cheek.
