Sitting in the back, Chuck Yates had already spotted Juno. Hearing this, he met Miles's gaze through the rearview mirror with a dark, enigmatic look. "Why are you so excited?"

Miles coughed to cover his awkwardness. "I'm not..."

*I'm excited for you, okay?*

Miles had excellent driving skills and quickly pulled the car up alongside Juno. "Ms. Mercer! Where are you headed?"

Hearing his voice, Juno glanced over. "What are you doing here?"

She instinctively looked at the rear window. Chuck was probably in the car.

Miles stopped the car, got out to open the door for her, and naturally ignored her question.

As soon as Juno got in, she was enveloped by a cool, clean scent. Sure enough, Chuck was sitting in the back.

Chuck's palm was warm as he pulled her to sit next to him. He took a handkerchief from his pocket and wrapped it around her hand, his brow furrowing slightly. "How did you do this?"

"Didn't notice."

Chuck didn't say a word, but the temperature inside the car seemed to drop a few degrees.

Juno tried to ignore the warmth on her hand and asked Miles up front, "Where are you guys going?"

Miles remained silent.

How would he know? There was nothing on the schedule today; his boss had just told him to drive in circles around the Corrington estate.

Truth be told, before Juno came out, he had already circled the block over a dozen times. He was starting to feel like the residents here thought he was some kind of idiot...

If his boss wanted to see her, he could have just called her. Why did he have to pretend to run into her like he was some aloof guy? It was the subordinates who suffered.

"To get food," Chuck said coolly.

The car eventually pulled up in front of a restaurant.

Juno and Chuck walked inside together, while a hidden camera snapped a picture of their backs from an obscure corner.

Just then, a plainly dressed man walked toward them, holding something in his hand, and reached out toward Chuck.

Before Chuck could even react, Juno had already grabbed the man's wrist, her gaze radiating a terrifying chill.

It clearly frightened the man.

Without realizing it, protecting Chuck had become second nature to Juno.

A waiter rushed over from nearby, and two staff members escorted the man away. "We're so sorry for startling you. He often sneaks in to hand out flyers. We'll handle it immediately."

Juno nodded calmly.

The restaurant had a warm, amber ambiance. As they walked further in, Chuck spoke in a casual tone, "I heard you took over the Corrington family's jewelry business."

"Yeah, I was bored anyway."
