His squeals made the rest of the thugs hesitate. One man was still grabbing Caleb.

Juno stared straight at the man. "Let go."

The man burst into a mocking laugh. "Hahaha!! You think I'll let go just because you said so?! Who the hell do you think you are?!"

As Juno walked over, she threw the broken bottle with full force.

It all happened in a split second. The jagged edges of the broken glass pierced straight into the man's eye.

"Ahhhh!" The man screamed hysterically. "Get her!!"

He released Caleb and clutched his eye with both hands, trying to ease the pain, but it was futile.

The remaining thugs swarmed toward her, but the bodyguards Gerda had left for Juno instantly flooded out from the shadows. Their movements were lightning fast and brutally efficient. It was obvious they were highly trained.

Within seconds, the men were pinned down by Juno's bodyguards.

Before Caleb could even yell out 'run', the fight was already over. He awkwardly rubbed his nose.

"Take them away," Juno ordered.

The bodyguards dragged the screaming thugs out. The alley returned to its original silence, as if nothing had ever happened—save for the blood still pooling on the ground.

Juno turned and walked to an inconspicuous corner, helping the woman out. She was still trembling, clearly terrified.

Despite this, she stammered, "Juno, I didn't want to bother you, but it happened so fast, and now..."

Juno cut her off. "I know. Why did you come to Kingsland?"

"Your father borrowed from loan sharks and they took him. We were targeted as soon as we arrived. They said they'd kill me if we didn't pay up, so your brother acted recklessly and started fighting them."

Hearing this, Juno glanced back at Caleb, who was beaten beyond recognition. She was speechless.

"Find a place to rest first."

With that, two bodyguards stepped forward.
