The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 939

The heavy stack of papers smacked Zeus across the face, the sharp edges stinging his skin.

Zeus instinctively flinched, turning his head away. Instantly, his expression darkened into a frigid scowl as he glared at Clive.

"What the hell is wrong with you now, Clive?!"

"You have the nerve to ask me that?!"

Seeing Zeus's fake, victimized act made Clive want to vomit. His voice cracked as he screamed, "Open your damn eyes, Zeus! Look at what that report says!"

Zeus, momentarily stunned by the sheer volume of Clive's scream, glanced at the papers scattered across the floor. He slowly began to piece together what was happening.

He didn't bother kneeling to pick them up. Instead, he locked eyes with Clive, a dark, venomous edge creeping into his gaze. "Clive... did you go to a hospital behind my back?"

"What did you promise me? Do you have zero faith in me?!"

As far as Zeus was concerned, Clive had begged him for a cure on his hands and knees. And now that he was feeling slightly better, he thought he could turn around and stab Zeus in the back?

"Faith? Hahaha..." Clive let out a wretched, hysterical laugh, pointing a trembling finger at the medical records. "My faith in you is exactly what destroyed me! Thanks to you and your 'miracle drugs,' every major organ in my body is failing!"

"I'm going to drop dead, and it's going to be because of you!"

He wasn't even going to die from the virus; he was going to die from the treatment!

"You don't know what you're talking about!" Zeus shot up from the sofa, his voice booming to match Clive's.

"I am your brother! Why the hell would I try to kill you?!"

"You were the one crying and begging me! You said you didn't want your career ruined, that you'd pay any price to suppress the virus! I was the one who pulled every string, called in every favor, and spent a fortune to get those experimental drugs imported from a private lab! Without those pills, the media would have already skinned you alive, the internet would have crucified you, and your life would be over!"

"You're nothing but a pathetic thief who steals drugs to run second-rate experiments! You're garbage!"

Clive weaponized every single insecurity he knew his brother harbored.

He knew exactly where to twist the knife, and every word he spat hit Zeus's most vulnerable, fragile nerve.

Especially that one sentence.

You will never, ever be better than Leilani!

That completely shattered Zeus's restraint.

The last shred of fake patience and feigned guilt evaporated from Zeus's eyes, replaced by a terrifying, arctic emptiness.
