Dante showed absolute zero mercy, ripping away Talbot's facade.
Talbot's face twitched violently. He didn't make a single move toward the door.
Taking a half-step back, the respectful son act completely evaporated. The temperature in the room plummeted.
Staring down at the old man, his voice turned ice-cold. "Since you want to be blunt, I won't waste your time."
"You want to walk out of that door? Fine."
"Sign over your shares in the Langley Group, and draft a formal statement naming me as your sole successor. Do that, and I will personally escort you out."
This was the endgame.
He reached into his jacket, pulled out a thick legal document, and shoved it in front of Dante.
Dante didn't even glance at it. He slapped the file away, sending the papers scattering across the floor. "In your dreams! Callahan is the only heir to the Langley Group! As long as I have breath in my lungs, you will never touch that chair!"
"Callahan?"
Talbot let out a dark, grating laugh. He couldn't believe the old man was still banking on a ghost.
But since Callahan was already a corpse, Talbot didn't care.
He casually bent down and started gathering the papers. "Dad, stop lying to yourself. It's all over the news. Callahan was blown to pieces in Myanor. There isn't even enough of him left to put in a coffin, and you think he's coming back to take over?"
He took a step closer, intentionally twisting the knife. "Actually... you're the reason he's dead."
