Alistair's brow twitched slightly as he turned to look at her. "Why?"
Celia nervously fiddled with her fingers and whispered, "I'm... a little nervous. I was hoping you could help me look over my speech."
Alistair didn't really understand Celia's "nervousness."
Giving a speech in front of a group of people she didn't know and would likely never cross paths with again was something Alistair had been doing since he became an adult. There was nothing to be nervous about.
But he wasn't going to force his own mindset onto someone else.
—Especially since she had actively sought his help.
So, even though he didn't understand, Alistair still said, "I can leave a bit later. You can ask me any questions you have."
He wouldn't sleep here, but leaving a little later wasn't an issue.
Hearing this, Celia's eyes lit up, and a huge smile bloomed on her face. "Thank you!"
It was already nine o'clock by the time they finished dinner.
Alistair glanced at his watch and told Ken to take his car and head home first.
There were four or five spare cars in the garage at the Aerie Manor, so he could just drive himself back later.
After Ken left, the massive estate was empty except for the two of them and the staff.
Because the executives' data reports had been flawed today, another virtual meeting was scheduled for tonight to present and review the corrected figures.
So Alistair went to the second-floor study, sent out the notification, and launched the online meeting.
When Celia knocked on the study door carrying her laptop, Alistair's meeting hadn't started yet.
"Come in."
At the man's words, Celia gently pushed the door open.
"Uncle Alistair," Celia walked softly to his side, placed the laptop on the desk, and pushed it toward him. "Could you look this over for me?"
