The Platonic Trap novel Chapter 96

From Alistair's angle, he had a clear view of her profile.

Her working state was different from her usual demeanor—her expression was focused, her eyes tracking the text meticulously and carefully.

His phone buzzed at the perfect moment.

It was time for the meeting.

Alistair joined the virtual room and unmuted his microphone. "Begin the presentation."

Then, he muted it again.

On the screen, several executives shared their screens, displaying their revised data on PowerPoint slides.

Alistair wore only one earbud, resting his head on his hand as he listened to their presentations.

He had his camera on as well, and in the frame, the man's gaze was cool and detached, his expression stern and focused.

After revising the sections Alistair had pointed out, Celia glanced sideways at the man.

Seeing that he was in a meeting, she sat quietly by his side, not disturbing him.

Alistair noticed her movement.

Turning his head slightly, he hooked a finger at her, his tone perfectly normal. "Bring it here."

Celia paused for a second, as if just realizing something, and whispered, "Uncle Alistair, isn't your microphone on?"

Alistair nodded. "Just speak normally. Don't worry about it."

Celia raised an eyebrow slightly, a hint of mischief flashing in her eyes. That was exactly what she had been waiting for him to say.

Outwardly, she smiled and nodded. "Okay."

Pushing the laptop toward him, Celia asked softly, "Uncle Alistair, take a look. Is this how I should change it?"

Alistair tilted his own laptop screen down slightly so the camera only showed his suit jacket.

Glancing over Celia's revisions, Alistair nodded. "Yes."
