Ken's eyes went wide, and he quickly cleared his throat.

At the sound, Celia raised an eyebrow and turned her face away, refusing to look at Alistair.

Alistair's demeanor didn't shift in the slightest. He saw absolutely nothing wrong with the situation, nor did he feel the need to explain himself.

Rising slowly to his feet, his broad shoulders and narrow waist completely blocked Celia from view.

His massive frame cast a shadow over her, effectively hiding her entirely from Ken's sight.

"Mr. Zucker, the new therapist has been called in," Ken reported respectfully, keeping his eyes glued to the floor.

Alistair nodded, though something still felt slightly off.

He turned back to look at Celia, his voice elegant and cool. "The air conditioning is a bit strong in here. You should... put on a jacket."

The estate was kept at a perfect, spring-like temperature year-round.

Celia didn't argue. She simply stood up from the sofa. "I'm going to head upstairs, Uncle Alistair."

Alistair nodded.

Watching the young woman walk up the stairs, Alistair's eyes turned lethal. "Did he express any of those sentiments to her?"

Those filthy, despicable, sickeningly obsessive delusions.

Ken knew exactly what his boss meant.
