The Platonic Trap novel Chapter 68

Hearing the therapist's assessment, Celia offered a polite smile. "Thank you."

"Actually, 'pleased' might be an understatement. Your psychological metrics are genuinely astonishing," the therapist remarked in awe. "Your ability to handle stress is exceptional. Even under the most extreme, terrifying conditions, your mind is capable of immediately calculating the optimal response to protect yourself from harm."

Both mentally and physically.

"I can't be completely sure, but it may be because you received immediate, effective comforting right after the incident," the therapist concluded with a warm smile, reviewing the data once more. "Regardless, your mental state is incredibly healthy. There's no need to worry about long-term trauma."

Because of the earlier disaster with Jessica, Alistair had stayed in the room for the entirety of this session.

Hearing the therapist's conclusion, a sudden image flashed through Alistair's mind—the moment she had practically thrown herself into his arms, sobbing.

*You received immediate, effective comforting.*

For some inexplicable reason, the spot on his waist where she had buried her face suddenly felt warm.

Alistair subtly looked away, actively avoiding the gaze Celia had just directed toward him.

"If anything else comes up, please feel free to reach out to me again."

The therapist left her business card with a gentle smile and took her leave.

"Thank you so much," Celia said.

Ken escorted the therapist out, leaving the massive living room empty once more, save for Celia and Alistair.

Glancing at his watch, Alistair spoke in a calm, steady tone. "It's six o'clock. We should eat."

Celia quickly waved her hands in refusal. "Oh, no, that's okay. I just spoke to my grandfather, and he reminded me how busy you are. He told me not to be a nuisance."

Alistair replied, "No matter how much work there is, a person still needs to eat."

He had never been one to starve himself for the sake of business.

Hearing this, Celia studied him with a look of genuine amusement, her eyes curving into crescents.

"What is it?" Alistair raised an eyebrow, slightly confused by her reaction.

"Uncle Alistair, do you have a stomach ulcer?"

Alistair was baffled but answered honestly, "No, my health is perfect."
