The Platonic Trap novel Chapter 13

The moment Celia saw her, her ears rang, and her vision momentarily blurred.

Even though she had known her dream was a premonition the moment she saw those DNA test results, she still froze when confronted with the face of the true heiress in the flesh.

The girl standing in front of her was her exact age, dressed in a neat, professional skirt suit, her hair pulled back into a low ponytail. Her face still held traces of youthful naivety.

Why was she here?

As Celia looked up, she noticed the name tag pinned to her chest: Evelyn Morgan.

Exactly the same name as the true heiress in her dream.

"Thank you," Celia smiled at her, asking casually, "Are you still a student?"

Evelyn blinked, then nodded. "Yes. I'm Mr. Forrester's... assistant. I'm currently interning."

Like Celia, Evelyn attended Capital University. But there was one major difference: with Celia's family background, she didn't need to do an internship.

Sometimes, Celia would consider growing a conscience and revealing Evelyn's true identity to the world early, since everything the Stafford family owned technically belonged to Evelyn anyway.

That way, she could step away gracefully without making an enemy out of her.

But her conscience was practically nonexistent. In her dream, Talbot and Evelyn had conspired to throw her into a psychiatric ward, making her suffer until she wished she were dead. There was no way in hell she was going to tell Evelyn the truth about her birthright, nor was she going to let her enjoy a life of luxury a second sooner than necessary.

Based on the plot of her dream, Celia knew her status as the fake heiress would eventually be exposed, which was exactly why she was securing her grip on Alistair now. That way, even when she was inevitably kicked out of the Stafford family, as long as Alistair was backing her, neither the Staffords nor the Forresters would dare lay a finger on her.

Celia felt no particular emotional attachment regarding Evelyn. Even though this girl was currently entangled with her fiancé, Celia believed the blame fell squarely on Talbot.

Besides, Celia wasn't in the habit of fighting over trash. A scumbag like Talbot was meant to be tossed out; he wasn't worth fighting for.

Before Celia could say another word, a furious voice rang out from the doorway. "Celia, what are you doing?!"
