153 Dawn of gods (2)
Slowly, Nikolai examined his hands. His hands were only stained with fresh blood. His blood, in fact but he wasn’t actually bleeding.
He tilted his head to the side and returned a confused gaze to the sun goddess. “I’m not bleeding.”
Her brows furrowed. “However, there is blood.”
“My wounds have healed.” Muttering, Nikolai aimed his blade towards her. “What are you performing? Are you trying to divert my attention?”
“Divert?” Her eyes widened as though he had just made a joke as she questioned. “I’m only concerned. I noticed blood, and…”
“Concerned?” With a sneer of incredulity, Nikolai questioned. “Are you serious? Why aren’t you trying to kill me and assault me?”
“I don’t see any reason to.” She exhaled deeply and smiled before moving closer to him. But, she stopped as he took another step back.
“I warned you not to come any closer.” As he let go of his sword, Nikolai growled. Her gentle demeanor astonished him. Weren’t gods hostile toward themselves all the time? She was concerned about him rather than attacking him or doing worse? She was completely absurd in his eyes.
“Are you certain that you don’t fear me?” Laughing, she questioned. “But you ought to be. Being in my spatial heavenly domain puts you in peril.”
Sighing, Nikolai turned and started to move in the direction of the river that the waterfall had formed. When he knelt down and put his hands in the water, he was surprised by how cold it was. “If you don’t kill me, I will kill you.”

will be an honor to be slain by you.”
Those comments made Nikolai’s entire body tense. “Honor?” her speaking style. Very carefree. Absolutely without fear. His aura alone exerted a
powerful, dominating pressure, thus it was only natural for others to quake beneath him.
However…
As he stood up and turned to face her, he noticed that she was holding his sword and giving it her undivided attention. Nikolai’s face darkened. “Put that down.”
“Oh?” She turned to face him and cast his sword his way.
“Why toss it away?!” As he effortlessly caught it, he exclaimed.
“Well..” She sighed and put her hands on her waist before saying, “Keeping you alive is against the regulations of the order, thus in order for any of us to avoid receiving the punishment of the order, we must kill one another.
But..”
“But?” With a lack of interest evident in both his voice and face, Nikolai interjected. He was considering how to clean up this mess. She was correct; either she or he would have killed the other. Sadly, she was too lovely and ethereal for him to concentrate on those options. It wouldn’t hurt to have a little fun with her, maybe.
“I need a favor, and then we can fight until only one of us survives.” She revealed with a sly smile, which caught Nikolai off guard.
“Why would I do you a favor?” He looked away from her and onto the waterfall before he asked. “You are a complete stranger, and deciding to play a game with me will be the worst decision you ever make.”
“I’m Ophelia; who are you?” She abruptly questioned.

“What?” He looked away from her after asking, startled by her abrupt introduction, only to look back at her and see that she was standing very near to him.
Startled, he took another step back but she took another step forward, closing the distance between them.
“Stay away!”
“Are you certain that you don’t fear me?”
“Why would I be scared of you?” Nikolai lost it, became utterly agitated, and took a forceful stance.
Despite not moving his legs, he found himself leaning back as Ophelia smiled and drew in closer. His attention was drawn to her piercing golden eyes, which traveled from her petite, pointed nose to her parted, lush pink lips. Though their closeness was causing his brain to malfunction, he couldn’t resist the impulse to stroke her jade skin.
Suddenly, as she moved in closer, their lips only an inch away from each other, Nikolai slipped and fell backwards into the water.
“Oh my!” Ophelia bursted into laughter, placing her hand on her stomach as she did so.
Nikolai blinked rapidly, embarrassed and flustered that she was laughing at him in such a state. Without hesitation, he trapped her feet between his, yanked her forcibly, making her tumble towards him. He then caught her by wrapping his arms around her and forcing her to sit on his lap.
With her hand on his shoulder and their faces incredibly close, Ophelia froze, her eyes wide. Her thoughts were in complete disarray, and her heart was pumping irregularly, reminding her that this was one of the darkest entities ever to exist.
She nevertheless kept asking, “What’s your name?”

“You already appear to be familiar with my name, Ophelia,”
Ophelia experienced a tingling sensation throughout her body as a result of his voice and the soft, seductive way he uttered her name. “I want to hear it from your lips, blood moon god.”
“Nikolai.” He exhaled, slowly releasing her waist, and pushed himself back to the water. It was still along the shore therefore, the ground was fairly
clear.
Ophelia regarded him with a curious gaze. “Why do you look at the sky with such awe? ”
“I’ve never seen daylight.” Nikolai answered seriously before gradually closing his eyes.
“And I’ve never seen nighttime,” Smiled Ophelia.
The sun and moon.
How different.
Yet they were both under the same sky.
“And my favor?” Ophelia rose from his lap, leaned closer to him, dipping her hands into the water at his sides as she did so. She saw those crimson eyes open as soon as her face got close to his.
