170 A war in the blizzard
Ophelia and Esmeralda were not prepared to materialize in the middle of nowhere on mount Sidus. However, the cold was so oppressive that they were relieved they had previously made preparations for the winter.
Ophelia transformed her fiery weapon back into a dagger. “I didn’t know the approach would have such a severe murder intent.”
Esmeralda assumed a crooked stance, holding her bow and arrow. “They are fully aware that you will fight back.”
Ophelia gave a nod. The moment she ran into Esmeralda, Nikolai somehow teleported her away without making any form of contact. It was almost as though he had predicted everything.
She squinted her eyes and allowed her gaze to wander over the snow–covered landscape. Huge clumps of snow were falling from the sky, and the cold wind was whooshing ferociously against their faces.
“A blizzard.” Ophelia grumbled.
“We have to return back to the mansion.” Esmeralda gasped.
“I do not think it’s a good idea to fly in this weather.” Ophelia winced and looked up at the furious clouds of the impending snowstorm. “We are under
attack.”
And a powerful roar burst forth, followed by others.
Esmeralda snickered. “It has been a while since I battled with full strength.” Ophelia’s eyes narrowed sharply, golden scales started to develop beneath her eyes, and her dagger transformed back into a fiery sword. “Do you think I should try and speak to them?”
Esmeralda laughed. “Do you want an advice?”

both used their powers to shelter themselves from the fire and ttacked immediately once the fire subsided, destroying the dragons in a coordinated manner.
As Esmeralda shot at the dragons‘ vulnerable areas, such as their wings, Ophelia leaped to sever their limbs and eliminate them entirely.
When the dragon made the decision to use the flames, Esmeralda and Ophelia remained side by side and traded weapons. Golden fire instantly coated Esmeralda’s bow and arrow as soon as Ophelia held it.
Strangely enough, Esmeralda’s eyes reverted to their original amber color and shone like a liquid fire crystal burning in the night sky. Ophelia’s sword, which she was holding, was instantly consumed in a brilliant amber glow, causing the flames to spiral around it.
“I will support you by multiplying the arrows.” Esmeralda muttered,

They both effortlessly grasped their weapons.
Esmeralda shot an arrow at the final dragon on the left wing, and Ophelia was quick to respond with her sword, which was once again enveloped in flames. smeralda giggled. Her weapons vanished from her grip and a gray glow simultaneously erupted at her back materializing into a pair of gorgeous amber wings that looked like it was filled with various twinkling silver stars. Ophelia was consumed in golden fire, and her enormous golden dragon wings formed as a powerful flame shot from her back.
Together, they pushed off the ground fluttering their wings and soared high above the mountain’s lower peaks. The wind felt colder and the snow could reach them more closely the higher they traveled.
Having warmed herself earlier, Ophelia felt relieved. At this rate, she would have perished.
