Ophelia examined her neck for any bites while gazing at her reflection in the mirror. She had no visible scars or anything like scarring on her neck; it was entirely normal. However, It was stinging softly, and she kept pressing her fingers across the area where he had bitten her once more. The kind of discomfort she was experiencing was causing her to become aroused just by thinking about him. 1
Typical thoughts! Not erotic thoughts! However, despite the fact that she couldn’t be hurt by fire, she felt as though it were engulfing her, which was oddly ironic.
“What did he do to me?” She exhaled deeply and asked before turning away from the mirror, walking over to the bed, and putting on her large, gray cloak. “I can’t think straight.”
Her attention was drawn to the door when there was a sharp knock. As the door opened, Esmeralda walked in hastily.
“Lia!” She hugged Ophelia. “I’m glad he arrived in time!”
Ophelia quickly thought back to what had happened the day before and retreated from Esmeralda’s hug. “What happened to you two?!”
“The witches attacked us. Even though we managed to evade them, despite their strength, they managed to perform some sort of enchantment that prevented us from rushing to your aid.” Esmeralda clarified and exhaled heavily in relief.
“So, that’s why.” Ophelia pursed her lips as she mumbled.
“When Rhaziel showed up, I knew Nikolai must have found you.”
Esmeralda smiled as she continued.
“You heard everything, didn’t you?” Ophelia asked with interest.

Esmeralda gave a nod. “I did. However, it doesn’t make sense.”
“You imply that Tiana is capable of brainwashing him?” Ophelia sat on the bed and posed the query, crossing her arms over her chest and gazing up at the chandelier above. “She didn’t brainwash him, in my opinion. I
believe they have a shared past.”
Esmeralda worriedly regarded her friend. In a few hours, Ophelia would be wed, but here she was worrying about a dead pure-blooded Lycan and a witch who was lusting after power.
“You’re about to tie the knot, Ophelia. Put all this out of your mind for a while.” With a playful tone, Esmeralda murmured, grabbing Ophelia by the hands and yanking her back to her feet. “I’ve heard that the oracle is supposed to bring the Alpha and Luna together. You might be the next oracle, but since you’re not a wolf shifter, I’m not sure how that works.”
Ophelia’s cheeks began to heat up as she averted her gaze. “I have no concern about that.”
“Oh?” Esmeralda fixed an intense gaze on her friend. “What are you
concerned about?
She then paused, her lips curled in a sly smile. “Ophelia, you have nothing
to be concerned about.”
“Have you ever done it?” Wide-eyed, Ophelia enquired, expecting a positive response. It would be fantastic if her friend could offer some guidance.
Esmeralda chuckled apprehensively. “Stop staring at me like that; it’s embarrassing.”
Ophelia sighed and shifted her attention elsewhere. “I have no idea where the wedding will be held, but you must come with me.”
Esmeralda laughed, holding Ophelia warmly. “It will be an honor.”

Nikolai sat with a glum expression on the last step of the staircase leading to his throne. Because he had to persuade his mother to unite him and Ophelia, there was a 100% possibility that their impending marriage ceremony would result in an explosive drama.
The throne room was pristine, admirable, and reeked of power and death. After all, it was where he had killed his father.
His heart didn’t harbor any regret or guilt … Was he meant to feel anything at all?
“Mother can’t get too close to Ophelia.” Nikolai growled quietly with a deep mumble. He prohibited Ophelia from having any kind of contact with his mother for a reason, and he wanted to keep it that way.
Danil entered the throne room and kept his eyes locked on Nikolai, who was deep in contemplation. He couldn’t help but wonder what really went on Nikolai’s head.
“Yakim and Boris are on their way back. There have been reports of the dragons withdrawing.” Somberly, Danil said.
“So?” Nikolai enquired, retaining a serious demeanor.
Sighing, Danil. “Don’t you think it’s strange? They should be more motivated to attack after learning that the formal alpha is dead.”
“And what are you expecting me to do in response?” Nikolai casually enquired.
Gritting his teeth, Danil. “Are you attempting to rile me up?”
“If I were, I wouldn’t be answering you.” Nikolai retorted.
“Why did you kill Alexander?” Danil questioned firmly, and Nikolai finally turned his annoyed glance to him.

“Why don’t you ask me why Celestia’s head warrior is a lycan who is not of Novikov blood?”
“Because Boris is unworthy of that position. If he tries to turn against you, this already-broken family will be destroyed because power will corrupt him.” Danil sighed and acknowledged before lowering his shoulders. “You still have time to change your mind.”
Nikolai raised an eyebrow and questioned, “About?”
“Tying the knot with the dragoness. You don’t have to commit. You can have her as a…”
“Don’t complete that sentence.” With a harsh, frightening hiss, Nikolai
intervened.
Danil’s eyes grew gravely dark, and he shook his head, holding his lips closed. “Despite your early tyrannical actions, I do not wish to downplay the fact that you are actually ruling Celestia wonderfully.” He muttered.
Nikolai rolled his eyes. “I haven’t taken any action. You all love exaggerating what I can and cannot do.”
In response to those whirling, blood-lust-spilling crimson eyes, Danil curled his lips and narrowed his eyes. “Your eyes. Are you in a rut?”
Nikolai grunted and stood up, putting his hands in his pockets. “Being aware of your concern for me makes me shudder.”
Flusteredly blinking, Danil scoffed in complete shock. “What are you referring to? I have no concerns about you.”
Nikolai gave him a dreary look. “You will not be receiving a wedding
invitation from me.”
“I don’t want to be invited,” Danil scowled and walked away.
A hazy image flashed across his mind as he tightened his fist. Drenched in

blood, seven-year-old Nikolai was sobbing and clutching eight-year-old Danil, whose eyes were wide in disbelief and filled with tears.
‘You can spend the night with me, but I can’t protect you.. no one will believe me if I try to tell them.’ While patting Nikolai’s back, which was wounded and torn revealing that he had been whipped, Danil muttered, tears streaming from his eyes.
Hugging Danil more tightly, Nikolai sobbed even more. ‘Kill me! Kill me please! If I try to hurt you in any way, today, tomorrow, someday, please kill me!’
Danil paused and returned to Nikolai, who was still staring at him. “The Alpha and Luna can be brought together by more than just an oracle. It can be done by a seer who is intensely spiritual to the moon gods.”
Danil’s statements caused Nikolai to raise his brows a little in surprise. “Why didn’t I think of that?”
Danil strode down the corridor with a smirk on his face and took a big breath. “I sincerely hope the day never comes, Nikolai, when I have to kill
you.”
Noon.
The three current carriages, which were getting ready to leave, were surrounded by guards.
With oversized white cloaks fit for the winter, Vladmir and Sasha emerged from the castles looking every bit of the royals they were.
“You look so excited.” Vladmir murmured, his expression lifeless. “Are you even aware of our destination?”
“No.” Sasha stated, grinning broadly with joy.

Vladmir grinned wryly. “I am the one who is doomed here!” Sasha and he then moved closer to the first carriage.
“Wait up!” Sasha tensed up when a recognizable voice yelled from behind her, and Vladmir turned to look at it.
Lev approached them and seemed to be in a bit of a panic. “I require your help!”
“No.” Vladmir said at once and turned toward the door, which a guard had already unlocked. He walked in and sat down, staring at Sasha who remained immobile.
“Please close the door.” He mentioned it to the guard who promptly obeyed.
“May I travel along with you two? My sister’s wedding is something I truly want to be at.” Sasha turned stiffly to face Lev and stated.
“Travel along with us?” She inquired to be sure she understood him correctly.
“Yes.”
