148 Hell?

Since her brother’s presence was likewise hard to come by, it had been a long since she had been called by him. Sasha was aware of the topic he wanted to discuss, but she was unaware of the specifics. Naturally, word of Nikolai’s murder of Alexander had traveled far and wide.

To be absolutely honest, despite what had occurred with Ophelia the other day, which caused Alexander to pass away, Sasha didn’t expect that Nikolai would be motivated to such an extent as to kill Alexander.

Sasha entered the dim study and her gaze shifted to her brother, who was sitting and focusing on the sole candle that lit the space. He appeared troubled, and Sasha felt a little remorse.

She strolled toward the table and shut the door behind her. She called,

“Brother,” with a courteous bow.

“Where is Vladmir?” Pavel asked in a commanding tone.

“Oh. I um… I had no idea you had also called him. He has likely been living in one of his personal brothel palaces for a while now.” Sasha hesitantly mumbled.

Pavel groaned, unsurprised. “Has he learned of Alexander’s passing?”

“He must already be aware of this.” Pavel nodded in response as Sasha looked away.

“If you must know, Nikolai and I are friendly with one another. I won’t claim that I am his advisor, but I am taking care of an important business for him.” Pavel began and stood up.

Sasha was surprised. “What do you mean?”

“It turns out that Alexander is a family mole who collaborates with the

dragons and shares their egotistical desires. Particularly in Nikolai’s hands, Alexander’s demise is imminent.” Pavel responded and walked over to Sasha, placing his hand on her shoulder. “Why didn’t you report that a red moon witch attacked the dragoness and her brother?”

“I… It all happened so quickly,” Sasha spoke, shaking her head. “She didn’t give me the specifics either.”

“I am in charge of gathering information regarding the dragons in the royal city. Revealing to Nikolai where they are. The war is drawing nearer and is being sparked by what is happening behind our backs.” Pavel said sternly and took his hands off her shoulders.

Sasha didn’t believe Pavel for some unknown reason. Nikolai hated Pavel,

and didn’t give a damn if Pavel was alive or dead.

But even if what he stated made some sense to her, it seemed like

information he had independently collected.

She felt the blood pearl’s presence, and it seemed that she was the only person outside Ophelia and Lev who was aware of its presence.

Sasha required some time in order to locate Ophelia and speak with her. Alexander’s passing was only a minor issue; the situation was not over.

“What do you believe is going on behind our backs, brother?” Sasha asked, speaking more clearly and with a serene manner. Her family… They were continually pursuing their own goals. She didn’t understand why she was becoming so wary of her own brother, but she always went with her instinct. She was constantly right.

“Our family’s relationship with the golden dragons and the red moon witches. Even though there is no longer a mole in our family, the witches and the dragons will continue to pursue their targets.” Sasha noticed that Pavel was talking a very huge fib when he said that he and Nikolai were on friendly terms as he responded, his tone calm and serious.

“What do you believe they are seeking?” Sasha innocently questioned.

“The demise of Celestia, and I believe Nikolai will be used to do that.”

“There’s no need to lie, I believe you’re just trying to extract information from me, brother!” Sasha exploded, having had enough of whatever he was attempting.

Pavel grimaced. “Of course you are smart.” then turned around and sat down.

“And you’re not just stupid, either.” All of the fire torches that had been put out unexpectedly burst into flame by Vladmir’s words. “Instead of being present in the castle, carrying out your responsibilities, or making an effort to defend any of us, you’re always outside flaunting your manhood.”

Vladimir, who was sitting on a couch near to the fireplace that had no flames at all, caught the attention of Sasha and Pavel.

“Vlad!” Sasha became indignant whilst Pavel just rolled his eyes and said nothing.

“Look at that disgusting conduct!” Vladmir hissed before leaping from the cushion and charging Pavel, taking hold of his collars. “Our family is disintegrating! You are the oldest! But since you are a coward, you are doing nothing. Despite everything that has happened to him, Nikolai is protecting this family! But you! You don’t know anything because you choose not to! You are weak, so you keep running away!”

“Let go of me!” Vladmir was shoved back after Pavel snapped, pulling his hands from his collars.

Vladmir pointed to his older brother, letting out a harsh, monstrous snarl. “You already know how useless you are. If hearing Alexander’s death makes you uncomfortable, leave us and don’t try to play detective. No one

will protect you if you are not willing to protect us!”

Deeply sighing, Sasha rubbed her forehead. She detested seeing Vladmir upset. ‘He won’t stop until all of his thoughts have been expressed.’

Despite being deeply moved by Vladmir’s words, Pavel remained silent.

“A lot is changing, and I like it.” Vladmir dropped his arm and began in a more composed manner. “The mind link is completely shattered because Nikolai neglected to get that from Alexander, but who cares! In a broken union, a mental link is untrue. The head warrior is now a lycan who isn’t a Novikov, a dragon will be the Luna, and even though everything will end in turmoil, it’s great! better than our avaricious parents, who have imposed on us the consequences of their previous atrocities!”

“Vlad. Are you intoxicated? Sasha approached him and questioned anxiously, putting her palm on his forehead, but he pushed it away. “Vlad?”

“The voices! I wish I could cry, but I can’t.” Vladmir sobbed, putting his hands over his face.

“Alexander’s death?” Sasha thoroughly questioned.

“No, I was aware of that already. I simply couldn’t tell.” Vladmir spoke, his voice hushed as his hands hid his face.

“Is something coming?” With fear in her voice, Sasha questioned.

Without saying anything, Vladmir gave a positive head shake.

“Blood?” He again shook his head when Sasha questioned.

“Nikolai and Ophelia?” He shook his head when she enquired.

She understood from his stillness that if he said anything, the goddess would punish him directly.

Sasha took a big breath. The witch, the blood pearl… She already had all those things to figure out, but it seems that there was more to come.

“Come!” She seized Vladmir’s arm and disappeared alongside him,

oblivious to Pavel, who had remained silent.

Vladmir sat down on her bed while she started pacing the room, looking incredibly disturbed.

“Since the witch didn’t harm them, it is clear that killing them wasn’t her true intention.” Sasha said, still pacing

Vladmir took his hands away from his face gradually. “According to what the voices told me, that was Tiana.”

Sasha gently switched her attention back to Vladmir as she felt her body tensing up. “Did she show up at the library on that particular day?” Viktor had mentioned the red mist in the library’s restricted area to Sasha earlier.

Vladmir gave a nod. “It’s obvious,”
