The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 400

Gideonโ€”the man who had fought off a gang of thugs in a dark alley with nothing but a rusty pipe and bloody fists just to keep her safe.

She knew he hated her now. She knew he wanted her dead.

But he was the only person here who could stop Julian.

Summoning every last drop of her energy, Nora wailed, "Save me... Gideon... please save me!"

"I was framed! I'm carrying your child! Gideon, please, help me!"

She prayed that the man who had twice saved her life would burst through the sea of black umbrellas and pull her into his protective embrace like he used to.

But why would Gideon ever come to her rescue?

The grounds were desolate. Besides the cold remnants of funeral music and the relentless patter of the rain, she received zero response.

The Hayes guards stationed nearby to monitor her turned a blind eye to the impending brutality.

Julian wouldn't dare execute this kind of vigilante justice out in the open unless he had Gideon's tacit approval. Or worse, Gideon simply didn't care if she lived or died.

He hated her to the marrow of his bones. He was utterly convinced she had murdered Giselle.

He had abandoned her here in the mud just to watch her suffer. He couldn't wait for her to die, so there was no way he was going to stop Julian from shattering her hands.

Smash!

The heavy steel pipe slammed directly onto Nora's right hand.

Crack.

The sickening crunch of shattering bone pierced right through the mist of the early summer rain.

"Ahhh!"

"Boss, what about the left?"

The guard gripped the bloody pipe and turned callously to Julian for his next order.

Julian didn't even blink. He looked down at Nora shivering in absolute agony with pure disgust and spat out a single word: "Continue."
