The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 603

Nolan stepped out from behind Nathan.

His hair had been dyed black again at some point, and buzzed into a sharp crew cut.

The makeover had hardened his boyish features, giving him a tough, edgy look.

He walked up to Nora and flashed a brilliant grin. "Long time no see, Nora."

Nora was speechless.

If she really thought about it, it hadn't been that long.

It was just that she had been so swamped with cases and her personal life that it created the illusion she hadn't seen Nolan in ages.

But why was this guy acting like they had been separated for a lifetime?

"You have no idea what I've been through lately!"

"Every single day I felt like I wouldn't live to see the sun rise. Thank God I made it, or you'd never get to see me again..."

Watching Nolan put on a dramatic, teary-eyed show, Nora finally understood.

He'd clearly had a rough time; every day must have felt like a year.

"Ahem. We'll talk about your situation later."

Nora waved him off, shifting her focus back to the man in the white coat.

Nolan caught on quickly. "What did this guy do?"

Nora gave a brief rundown of the man breaking into her room with malicious intent.

Nolan let out a loud "Wow" and kicked the guy squarely in the rear. "You got a death wish?"

"Nolan!"

A sharp, warning voice rang out. Nolan stiffened, as if suddenly remembering his current status didn't allow for that kind of behavior. He snapped to attention, grinning at the man who had spoken. "My bad, Captain! Won't happen again!"

Hearing this, Nora glanced at the man in surprise.
