Facing this chain of consecutive disasters, a normal person might just assume they were cursed with terrible luck.
But Nora instantly detected the suffocating stench of an orchestrated threat.
"If someone is using that website to contract people to orchestrate these 'accidents' against me, then both of these cases suddenly make perfect, terrifying sense."
A ruthless, icy smile played on Nathan's lips. "And who do you think is pulling the strings?"
Nora let out a dry laugh. "That's the easiest question of all. I only have one public enemy."
Mia Hayes.
Seeing the murderous frost in Nora's eyes, Nathan smiled and nodded. "Don't go hunting for her head just yet."
"I'm going to introduce you to someone tomorrow."
Nora's curiosity flared. "Who?"
Nathan kept it deliberately vague. "You'll find out tomorrow."
Knowing Nathan, when he decided to keep a secret, no amount of interrogation would break him.
Nora didn't waste her breath. She nodded. "Alright."
"We still have your wedding dress fitting tomorrow."
"We'll handle this mess first."
Nathan's eyes darkened as his intense gaze locked onto Nora.
Since transferring to Luminport City, he had hardly ever seen her in a dress.
The thought of finally seeing her step into a wedding gown, solely for him, sent a flush of heat creeping up his neck.
"Okay."
Nora noticed that his voice had suddenly gone low and gravelly. She shot him a confused look.
But Nathan was already looking down, aggressively staring at his tablet.
Nora: "?"
Utterly bewildered, she didn't bother interrogating him over his weird mood.
