Chapter 332

Third Person POV

Despite the rumors, Viktor truly disliked violence.

He didn’t enjoy killing for sport; he punished those who deserved it. The rest… was for his warriors.

Lycans were territorial in nature and protected their own. They were the most powerful species in the world, and crossing one was a death sentence. Viktor wasn’t denying that fact.

However, he also believed that the feud between the Lycan Territory and the Werewolf Territory had gone on long enough. Viktor wasn’t his father or even his grandfather; he believed in fairness and second chances.

At least that’s what his sister would have wanted.

The thought of his sister always made the locket he wore feel warm against his chest. Losing her was the worst thing that ever happened to him. They were close growing up, but he hadn’t seen her in years before her death.

He will never forget the day that her body was left on his doorstep; like they were done using her and they discarded what was left. After the autopsy, it was discovered that she had been pregnant; the last living piece of his sister.

“You worthless bitch! Do you have any idea how much these shoes cost? More than you’ve ever seen in your pathetic little life,” a shrill female voice said from nearby.

Viktor’s gaze shifted across the dining hall to spot a woman standing in front of Fae with her hands on her hips.

“I apologize,” Fae said, keeping her tone calm as she stared down at the girl who was easily a foot shorter.

“Who even are you??” The girl said, narrowing her eyes. “I’ve never seen you before. If you’re here for my wedding… consider yourself uninvited. Unless you want to pay me back for those shoes.”

Viktor’s eyes shifted to the shoes in question; a coffee cup sat on the ground beside them, and they were soaked. They were flats with small diamond studs in the center of the white bow.

Easily a couple of thousand dollars, which was practically nothing to Viktor. He could easily find that just lying around his palace if he searched hard enough.

Fae was too kind for her own good; she wasn’t a Lycan by blood, but because she was mated to a Lycan and marked by one, her scent was different than all of theirs. It was easy to mistake her scent for an outsider if she traveled alone, which was why Viktor always made it a point to have a warrior or two travel with her wherever she went. If not himself.

But that didn’t mean she couldn’t defend herself; if provoked, Fae was dangerous.

She was also incredibly gifted by the Moon Goddess, with three special abilities; not only could she communicate with any wolf from any distance, but she could also read people and their auras like she was reading a book. Growing up, those kinds of abilities made her a freak in the eyes of her pack.

But Viktor loved every single thing about her.

Once he became King after his father, he didn’t hesitate to make Fae, his fated mate, his Queen.

Neither of them truly wanted to be King and Queen, but since his sister’s death, he’s embraced his role, knowing he was doing it in her honor.

“I was invited to the wedding by your King,” Fae told her, calmer as ever.

Viktor knew that her calm was lethal, and the corner of his lips curved, knowing this girl was walking into Fae’s carefully designed trap.

Sophia scoffed, folding her arms across her chest.

“Well, I don’t care who invited you. I am the future queen, and this is my wedding. So, pack up your shit, and leave my palace.”

The corner of Fae’s lips curved.

Viktor almost felt bad for the girl.

Almost.

One of his warriors looked ready to step in, but one look from Viktor made him stop.

“I’ve already apologized for your shoes, Your Highness, and I can offer to pay for a new pair,” Fae told her calmly.

“You think you can just afford to pay for a new pair of these custom-made shoes?” She scoffed, letting out a bitter laugh.
