Chapter 330
Cecilia’s POV
Lucy quickly covered my mouth with her hands, her eyes wide.
“It’s just me. Stop,” she said, her voice coming out as a harsh whisper. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.
I let out a breath as I calmed.
“What are you doing in here?” I asked, looking around like I expected Beta Conrad to appear at any moment. You are going to get us both in trouble.”
“Did you truly think I was going to let you rot in here?” She asked, her brows furrowing. “It’s my fault we were caught in the first place. I’m breaking you out of here.”
“And go where exactly?” I asked, folding my arms across my chest. “There’s nowhere for me to run.”
“We need to find out where you came from so we can send you home,” she told me, and my chest tightened.
What if my home was the place I was running from?
I wanted to ask the question out loud, but I couldn’t get the words out of my mouth. Just then, the door opened, and my entire body froze.
“Lucy?” I heard Mariah saying, her voice also a harsh whisper as she stepped into the room. “What are you doing here? Are you trying to get her killed?”
My stomach dropped at the question.
“I’m breaking her out of here. Why are you here?” Lucy asked, frowning.
Mariah held up a medical bag.
“I’m giving her a checkup and making sure the baby is okay,” she told me. “I managed to get away from my brother, but he’s on his way here right now. You can’t let him catch you.’
Lucy looked hesitant as she looked between us.
“I can’t leave her here, Mariah. It’s my fault she’s here in the first place. If I had just listened to you…’
“It’s too late to regret your actions now, Lucy. But being here right now is not a good idea. I’ll make sur my brother keeps his hands off her, but you need to leave,” Mariah warned her. 1
Lucy opened her mouth to say something, but something on Mariah’s face made her pause. She sighed, then turned to me.
“I promise, I will get you out of here. Just hang on a little longer, okay?” She said, her eyes pleading.
“I’m okay,” I assured her. “You don’t have to worry about me.”
She gave me a small, worried smile before she turned and hurried out of the room.
Mariah let out a breath as she stepped towards me.

“She means well,” Mariah said with a small smile. “Come sit down. Were you able to get any sleep? I know it’s only been a couple of hours, but any amount of sleep will help.”
“Not really, I admitted, sitting on the bed.
The door opened, and Conrad stepped in. Mariah didn’t even have to look at him to know that it was him who entered the room. She immediately rolled her eyes.
“You shouldn’t have come here without a guard,” Conrad said, narrowing his eyes at his sister.
“She’s not dangerous. I’m not sure how many times I have to say that,” Mariah shot back. “If you’re going to stay, I’m going to need you to be quiet because I can’t concentrate with you talking so much.”
Leopold’s POV
“It’s her blood,” Warren said, his voice barely above a whisper.
