Surrogate for the Alpha Prince in a Coma novel Chapter 61

Chapter 61

Lillian’s POV

I pushed forward through the brush, barely able to see where I was going as my vision fogged. I felt as if I was walking underwater, my movements sluggish and delayed. I also had no idea where I was going, I only knew that I had to get away from whatever had been coming for me in that shed.

Blood dripped from my arm, and I clutched it with my other hand, trying to staunch the flow. It probably hurt really badly, but whatever pain that this wound might have given me was secondary to the pain of the heat that was coursing through my body, demanding that I find an Alpha mate, find release.

When I had been in the shed, my focus had been entirely scattered. It took all that I had to keep my thoughts together long enough to actually formulate an escape.

The shed had one small window, which was locked and sturdy. But in a room filled with gardening tools, I wasn’ going to allow this to stop me. I grabbed a shovel and pounded it against the glass, eventually shattering it.

I tore off the base of my skirt, tearing up to the knee in most places, but up the thigh in one section. I took that fabric, rapped it around my hands, and grabbed the windowsill. I had the mind to protect my hands from the bits of broken glass, but a pulse of heat struck me as I was halfway through the window.

My arms grew weak, and I nearly collapsed. I’d caught myself at the last minute, before more of me could be cut on the glass, but not before one of my arms had falleft to the windowsill. The glass sliced straight through my skin.

Now, at least, I was bloody and delirious, but I was free.

Freedom hardly mattered, though, when all that awaited me at the end of this heat was death. I needed a partner, a mate, an Alpha to help me through this. If I didn’t, I would die.

But I wasn’t going to allow just anyone to touch me.

At least that was what I hoped. As the heat turned my veins to lava, I wasn’t sure how long I could hold onto my standards before my body would take over.

It was happening already, my eyes going dark, my limbs feeling so heavy.

Maybe if I could just find a safe spot to rest. Maybe no one would find me.

Maybe I wouldn’t die.

But, deeper in my body than the hope to be left alone, was a desire for something else. Someone else.

My mate.

Slowly, my blinks grew longer. I would have thought my body would collapse from one blink to the next, but instead, each time my eyes opened, I seemed to be in a different place. My body was moving on its own, on instinct, without any of my mental input.

At this stage, I didn’t have much mental input to give anyway.

Only a handful of thoughts ran through my mind.

Pain. Want. Need. Mate.

One minute I was in the courtyard, then I blinked and I was inside the palace. Another blink, I was crawling up the stairwell. Another, I stood in front of a familiar door, my hand on the doorknob.

I turned the knob and stumbled inside.

Grayson had been reading on the bed. “You are back early,” he said, without looking up. Then he sniffed and dropped the book right out of his hands. His gaze snapped to me, and he stood from the bed, the book forgotten on

the floor.

“Lillian, what’s happened to you?” he asked, looking me over.

I shuffled toward him and collapsed into his arms. His body was so warm, I practically purred in his embrace. rubbed my face into his chest, taking in his scent, leather and pine. Masculine and strong.

His voice deepened, rough. “Lillian?”

I could only form one word, begging, “Please.”

Grayson’s POV

Lillian was an absolute mess. Her dress was torn. She was sweating, curled into me like she was in pain. I detected a hint of her blood in the air, which alarmed me, but it was deeply buried under another the piles of her delicious, sweet scent. Her pheromones assaulted my nose, begging as much as her voice, as her body, for me to take her and claim her. To make her mine with bite and body.

She tugged at her dress, grumbling, like she wanted to take it off and was struggling.

I quietly thanked that zipper she could not reach, that I had a moment to think things through. If she was naked, all of my thoughts would flee me. As of now, my thoughts were quickly disappearing under desire, but slowly, giving me enough time to consider.

I gripped her by the shoulders and held her away from me. She whined so brokenly, that my chest ached, but I stayed strong. Leaning down, I peered into her face, trying to determine her state.

Her eyes were glassy, her skin on fire.

This was so much worse than last time, when a flare of heat had Lillian rubbing herself against my ready hand.

This would not be solved so lightly. She wasn’t just begging for sexual relief. She was begging for a mark.

How long had she been out there in this state, wandering around, before her body found its way to me? Who could have come along and claimed her while I had been trapped in this room?

My wolf, no longer manifesting outside of me, was growling within my head. Maybe I was growling too.

Someone could have taken her from me.

“Please…” she whimpered. “Grayson, please,”

The way she said my name, her voice so desperate. If I hadn’t already grown hard from her scent alone, that would have had me hard as a rock.

The lust was making it more difficult to think. I needed to make a choice before I lost myself.

It was an easy choice. If I didn’t mark her, she would die.

She wasn’t getting away from me so easily.

I turned her and pulled her to me so that her back was snug against my chest. Then, I dropped down, nosing at her neck. Such a good girl, she tilted her head, giving me full access.

Her scent here was even stronger, as if leading me home.

1 opened my mouth, placed my teeth to the back of her neck, and bit. I clamped down, hard enough for her to bleed, to make the mark permanent.

It should have hurt, but she gave no sign of distress. Instead, she moaned loud and heady, as if I had just plunged myself my dick deep into her pussy. It took all of my dimming restraint not to tear her dress away and do just that.

Inside my mind, my wolf’s joy was overwhelming, filling me with happiness. Yes. This is perfect. This is what we are meant to do.

When the mark was set, I loosened my bite and pulled back. Lightly, I lapped at the mark, hoping to soothe any pain.

Her moaning continued, driving me to the edge.

When I couldn’t handle it anymore, I spun her in my arms and looked down at her face. Her eyes were hooded, the look of lazy satisfaction so prominent on my face that pride filled me.

She licked her lips, looked up at me, and wave of fresh lust pulsed through me.

I couldn’t hold back anymore.

I tugged her toward me and kissed her like both our lives depended on it.
