Still You Still Me Still Falling novel Chapter 6

She looked up at him, but his gaze was completely fixed straight ahead. Being this close, she couldn't help but notice how sharp his nose was and how perfectly chiseled his jawline looked.

He seemed... a little leaner, his features even more intensely defined than she remembered.

As she was staring, Edmond abruptly shifted his eyes down to meet hers. His look was frigid, completely detached, and laced with unmistakable disdain.

"Enjoying the view?"

His voice was even colder than his glare.

Sheila instantly snapped her head away.

She heard him scoff. Then he added, "Superficial."

Sheila ground her teeth and shot a look right back at him. "It's nothing special."

"You might want to get your eyes checked," Edmond retorted. "Your taste in men is genuinely tragic."

She knew exactly what he was insinuating—that her current boyfriend was a complete downgrade.

She fired right back, "I like what I like."

"Is that so? And how long are you planning on playing with this one?"

Sheila held her ground against his freezing glare. "Is that any of your business?"

They were speaking in hushed voices, their breaths mingling in the cramped space, making them look incredibly intimate, yet every word they exchanged was dripping in venom.

Edmond gave her one last icy stare before finally going quiet.

The moment the elevator chimed, Sheila practically sprinted out without looking back. She was right. They had absolutely nothing to do with each other anymore.

The business dinner went surprisingly well. Halfway through the meal, Sheila excused herself to use the restroom.

After washing her hands, she turned around, only to find a woman staring intently at her.
