Thurston scoffed. "She's going to regret it sooner or later."

Everyone knew how volatile and unpredictable Cecil was.

"Forget it," Cecil said, tossing the auction catalog aside. "The selection tonight is garbage anyway. I'll bring you back tomorrow."

"Tomorrow?" Sheila panicked a little. "Cecil, let's just skip it. I'm not going to buy anything anyway."

"You have to." Cecil thought for a moment before adding, "The proceeds from these purchases go to a charity for children with leukemia. I have more money than I know what to do with. Just think of it as helping me give back."

Sheila hesitated. "I'm fine with charity, but I still don't want the items."

He'd buy them first; whether she wanted them or not was a completely different story.

Cecil nodded. "Deal."

The two agreed to return the next evening and stood up to leave.
